I thought Smith was ok tbh.

same. That block he did on Bale in the first half was brilliant. Tracked him for about 40 yards.

That was the quickest I've ever seen him move. After a decent build up, I was expecting him to go in two footed and give away a pen like  .

Didn't see the game so can't speak about specifics but there seems to be a general feeling that playing against 10 men = obvious opportunity to control the game . Isn't it commonly commented upon that playing against 10 men can more often than not, be more difficult ?

I wouldn't have minded if that was the case, unfortunately we didn't attempt to play it and get snuffed out by a resolute team all working their arses off due to the deficit. Instead we decided to play the 10 man thing and just punt it up field whenever we got the ball back.

First half Tottenham were pretty atrocious tbh. We played ok but never looked like scoring.

Agree with that, but with a right footer on the left wing who can't cross and a right winger who prefers to cut inside when given the ball and who doesn't like to cross when given the chance, how can we service the natural talent of A.C who thrives on crossed balls and obviously scares the living shits out of Premiership defenders.

Fair enough :(

Pardew has not done himself any favours by not immediately taking a defender or Smith off for a sub forward when they went down to 10 men with us chasing the game 1-0 down.

Surely Jonas sees more of the ball and comes into his own running into the box and at his man when we have possesion outnumbering them going foward.

Why do we have to retain 3 men marking their lone foward while still being outnumbered in their half.

I bet they couldnt believe our response or their luck.

f***ing clueless.

Barton sporting his Hitler haircut won't help either.

Surely Jonas would warant keeping on if he produced in the final third of the pitch.I can't argue with his effort and his running back to help out defensevley, commendable by anyones standards. But,he has to be played on the right to appreciate his true talent and abillity.Wouldn't the team have had a more balanced feel and look if Ben Arfa hadn't been shagged by that tw+t from Man City and Jonas had played on the right?

Ok,take him off but we're limited by the depth of our squad as to what we can put on as a replacement to give a different dimension to any game we're involved in.

I thought he was asking for trouble leaving Tiote on after the sending off, they'd been trying to get him,and others sent off all day with their poncey play-acting.Maybe that's why Kaboul lost it.and furthermore looked an even bigger cunt than usual when Tiote just stood and stared him out after the butt.

Just got back, first half was ruined by the pathetic stewards trying to get everyone to sit down as they always seem to do at Spurs.

Krul 8. One outstanding save and couldn't be blamed for either goal

Simpson 6. Average

Colo 7. Decent performance but wasn't overly threatened.

Taylor 7. Same as Colo.

Perch 7. Was quite impressed with him today, very quick and wasn't caused too many problems by Lennon. Saw Krul having a go at him after the first goal but haven't seen it again yet so not sure if it was his fault or not.

Routledge 5. Dreadful

Tiote 8. Very good performance. How many games has he played that he hasn't been yellow carded in?

Smith 5. See Routledge.

Jonas 6. Missed Enrique making his overlapping runs.

Barton 7. Despite all the abuse he never hid and was our main threat.

Carroll 6. Lost the majority of headers against Dawson, possibly a bit tired.

We never looked like scoring, constant long balls played up to Carroll who as said didn't seem to offer as much as usual.

we desperatly need a forward, tiote lucky not to be sent off, barton will not carry the ball even when on the edge of their box with no support and no other option, gutierrez what happened to the jonas who'd get the ball and just run at people ?

the defence was decent considering the mess in  front of them both in and out of possession.

got to mix up our free kicks, long diagonals to carroll are getting stopped due to them being bloody obvious as is the barton round the wall when carroll lines up with him.

spurs aren't very good, as usual they have a soft centre and after yeras of loving the dutch style of football from cruyff, neeskens, krol, rep to van basten, guillit, rijkaard i now despise there brad of thuggish, diving cheating. ie the way  van der fall over has carried on the dutch way from the world cup.

Smith did fairly well from what I saw. Saved us in the first half, actually.
