Dave
1641: According to BBC Radio 5 live, there will be no announcement about the West Ham manager position before or after the game against Arsenal this evening. Don't even say during.

Mr Logic
Like to know the ins and outs of that one some day, there was definitely something going on.
BottledDog
Like to know the ins and outs of that one some day, there was definitely something going on. Whatever the case, the BBC were complete dicks reporting rumour as nailed on fact. Complete dicks. Fair play to Dixon for at least looking a little uncomfortable on Football Focus. jdckelly
christ at least when ashley stabs someone in the back he gets the job done rather than the porn barons shafting grant but neglecting to sack grant, who the hell will work for them now and who in gods name will want to join west ham
MyPalAl
Aye, they almost make us look like a professional club. I hope Grant shafts them in any way he can, the way he has been treated.

And all the rest of the media. Fucking joke it was. I simply can't believe that it was certain to happen and now they've changed their mind (based on what exactly? They're still shit). My guess is they spoke about doing it and someone overheard/leaked it and got the wrong end of the stick. I don't even give a shit about Grant or West Ham but the way the media conducted themselves over this was disgraceful IMO. That stupid slag on ESPN leading the teams out () just after telling the cameras it was Grant's last game in charge right in front of the players was a particular low point. The BBC should be ashamed, they used to be reliable but these days they're no better than any other spacker with access to the internet. You only have to look at the dogshit websites they put on their 'gossip' pages to see that.

To be fair they only ever said BBC sport understands.. is kind of their job to report the news isn't it? Would have come from a pretty trusted source or they wouldnt have put it up. O'Neill has clearly been talking to them. Agree with the tasteless overkill though. West Ham are all over the place, If it wasnt for the redundancy pay Grant surely would have walked. They will probably sell Scott Parker now just to top things off.

Robster
This whole mess probably seals West Ham's relegation.
Guest optimistic nit
Hope Hughton doesn´t take them. But then again I would be disappointed not matter what PL team he would go to, just based at jealousy. Hughton has ZERO chance of getting any Premiership job. He got the NUFC gig by default. and did very well in it.
OzzieMandias
The BBC didn't report it as "nailed-on fact". Their story was all hearsay and "it seems" and "we understand" and so forth, and most of the quotes were from one of their own correspondents. It was a crap story, but it wasn't presented as fact. But as the first part of this thread shows, you can certainly fool some of the people most of the time.
