I'm going to create a sort of paradox theory here. If no transfers could take place between English clubs then it would be likely that we would never have released Adam Johnson in the first place, hence he never moved to Boro. Also if English clubs can't engage in transfers with other English clubs then either the team would be filled with foreigners, or an English club would just get a foreign feeder club to buy a player, then buy him off them. He was a young lad who could train with any club he wanted at the time Boro had Peter Kirkley (Wallsend Boys Club) working for them & he talked him into going to Boro Centre For Excellence.
