Maccarone to Boro.

To be fair has turned his career around back in Italy, good spell at Siena led to a move to Palermo, and now has just signed for Samp.

For what it's worth, I'd say Richard Wright leaving Ipswich is a pretty strong candidate for this thread.

Auxerre.

Baba watches a lot of French football, his reviews of Benjani when in France aren't exactly glowing.

Ah right, I never saw him there at all tbf.

I think we were linked with him when Souness was in charge.

 Fuckin' hell, that's all the proof I need. I'll now present it as fact to others that he was shit at Auxerre, without ever needing to see what he was like.

I've got the winner.

Mendieta leaving Valencia.

:snod:

OH FUCKING DOUBLE APPROVED, this is what we're looking for

currently top of the pops

The same Mendieta that was helped lead Boro to there first ever trophy and to a UEFA Cup final and who has since found happiness living in Yarm?

I think he might say otherwise.

£70k a week and an FA Cup win says otherwise.

Footballing wise. Where is he now? Some no mark French team.

Plus, he was never on £70,000 a week. He came out himself and said it was less than half of that.

Mendieta was one of the best players in the world at Valencia, got a £30m transfer to Lazio and within a couple of years he was on loan at Middlesbrough, that move ruined his life. :undecided:

Ruined his life? wild hyperbole.
