Actually think they are making sensible signings this time around.

Park is a model pro and absolute work horse.

Hoillet is up an up and coming youngster with lots still to prove.

Hargreaves despite a poor injury record would be a solid player when fit.

It's better than past it flair players who are winding down their careers on a hefty wage iyam.

Matías Fernández has moved to Fiorentina for about €4m. Can't believe no one else went for him at that price.

:anguish: one of favourite players, would have been all over him at that price. Even though he'd be liable to flop badly in the PL.

Problem is, they're alright signings. Factor in they'll all probably be on massive wages, and it's a disaster waiting to happen.

That lacina Traore We were linked with a year or so ago, moved to AnZhi last month for €18m.  :kasper:

Scored a canny few goals last season if my memory serves me right. Was already playing in Russia too.

QPR sign players, who may have two years left before they are finished as a footballer on this standard, on long term contracts and on massive wages. Because of the non- existing sale on values and high wages, QPR are in deep, deep trouble if they will get relegated. Even if they stay up, they will face economic difficulties in the near future.

Milan are making a huge error there imo, they lack LB's as it is and it was the summer to give him a chance.

Happy for Valencia though, bought two solid fullbacks this summer with one of them having a pretty big upside in Vila.

Poor Hargreaves. Should really just retire tbh, his body clearly isn't up to it. Always seemed pretty intelligent in interviews mind, think he could make a good coach.

Why retire when clubs will still pay you thousands of pounds per week?

I'm quite sure a player with his injury record is on a pay as you play deal?

Dídac Vila from Milan to Valencia, loan with a mandatory €4,5m buying option next year.

Good signing, he's pretty good prospect and was always to going to be lost in the shuffle at Milan.

Why not just buy him now, what's the point in the loan for a year first?

Probably don't have the money left in their budget for this summer, so loan him now and dip into next year's budget to pay it.

After all Valencia are not exactly in the best financial shape.

Twente have replaced De Jong with Castaignos for 5mill from Inter, pretty good deal considering hes 19 and has bags of potential and has sort of proved his quality in that league before. Wouldn't of been disappointed if we signed him as our 3rd striker for that price.

We were linked with him, but he is very raw and unlike at Twente he wouldnt be first choice here so best choice in his career right now really.

Good business from Twente though, they seem to be very smart in the transfer market so it cant be McLaren who makes the decisions.
