Guest
France don't play for a while so don't think it'd bother him to do the same.
Guest bimpy474
I love how '8th position' is set in stone lately Mainly because the 6 above us and Man Utd with their spending are/will be better than us, we'll spend f*** all so we can stand still and or end up like Portsmouth And there isn't a chance in hell we'll finish higher than 8th if Cabaye goes. 9th imo if we buy no one. Even without Cabaye, we could see more of HBA so I still think we could aim higher than we are. Cabaye here would make it easier mind. Not for me, for us to push on we need a striker and a wide player who's actually good for the left side so we can rotate Gouff and not flog him to exhaustion, also keeping Cabaye which we wont. No chance we'll finish 7th or higher now. Cabaye gone, no money being spent. No chance at all.
SEMTEX
Why do these obscenely rich teams try and take the piss with their bids? Lost on why they'd bother with anything below 20m.
Skirge
Its an offer they knew we would reject, even if Cabaye handed in a transfer request they would need to pay a hell of a lot more before we sold him. It was a pointless offer.

Luke Edwards @LukeEdwardsTele 1m #PSG knew £14m bid for Cabaye would be rejected by #nufc so assume it was made in hope it gets the player to misbehave again a la Arsenal

jdckelly
the relentless public tapping up by Blanc didn't work so go for the lowball offer to try and get it moving downwards price wise

midds
Not sure PSG even need to unsettle him tbh. Fairly sure that Cabaye has known for a while that they want him and it seems to be just a case of haggling over the fee. He was always going to leave the club either this window or the next one. Dave
Wonder when this bid was made btw? Assuming it's been leaked from our end, I wouldn't be so sure it's a very recent thing.
Andybiotics
Personally think he will stay until the end of the season. Think Ashley will want to cash in after the World Cup, when clubs play ridiculous prices for people who have decent outings. Think selling him on deadline day would be a HUGE blow and cause problems. Selling off Cabaye the day before the derby will shatter morale of the players and fans. All but cementing a defeat to the scum.

Reality however has Mike Ashley in the way so god only knows how that would work out.
Skirge
Ashley doesn't care on where we finish in the league as long as its not bottom three, he is not going to be forced to sell due to a player huf. Him playing or not bothers Pardew but Ashley is just thinking cash and £14m is not enough for him to do sell.

Alternatively he might get injured (see Falcao) or have a shit World Cup and never be worth as much ever again. He's 28 too, so only going one way from here. People might see £14m as derisory but it's still a lot of money and a £10m profit. The bit in bold couldn't be of less relevance to those in charge btw. His price is his price, we don't know what it is but I highly doubt Ashley will knock a few million off just because Cabaye throws his toys out of the pram. Skirge
We shouldn't need to report them for the tapping up FIFA should just slap them down but they won't. Everyone involved knows the fee is nowhere near enough and is an attempt to get Cabaye to go in a huff again. Not convinced he will do that this time though, he also needs to realize that its very unlikely that PSG will up the offer enough it could however spark Man Ure into offering more. This could be why this story has hit the press.
