Put another way: Marveaux can finally bring to the club the qualities Joe Cole should have delivered. For me Marveaux seems to be a supplement - a versatile attacking player who is equally capable of gaining the Kop-gasp on good days as disgruntled moaning on the less good days. Aye, but if he fits into our new wage structure and he's came on a free it's not going to have any real detrimental effect. I'd imagine at least one of the three we have brought in will be a quality signing, and if that means spending £1.5million pound or so more by the replacement of Nolan and addition of one of these three then chances are it's cost us nowt because we'd have saved on Nolans wages....
