Guest neesy111
Colo is still a decent defender, but he's not the same as he once was and he has put in some bad shifts this season especially v Hull this season.

Well, when we buy someone better, we can take him out of the side.
Ronaldo
Well yeah, either that or when MYM is ready to replace him.
TRon
I think once we buy a commanding centre back who is good in the air, both Colo and MYM will suddenly look a lot better. At the moment they are being asked to be the commanding centre back and neither are suited to it.

Ronaldo
There's no 'if' about it, like. Colo's on the way down and Mapou, even if he stagnates a bit, will surely be ready come summer.
Guest Haris Vuckic
He'll have to start winning simple aerial balls and actually marking opposition players in the box first.
Ronaldo
Aye, Colo's much better at doing that.

I haven't seen him play so can't really offer an opinion, but you'd imagine there must have been some flaw for us to have knocked back a freebie. Kanji
I honestly Kinnear just did it to do it man, seems completely irrational given he was a free transfer.

midds
http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-utd/newcastle-utd-s-coloccini-out-of-sunderland-derby-1-6166883 NEWCASTLE United captain Fabricio Coloccini is out of the Wear-Tyne derby – and Steven Taylor has been pencilled in to replace him. Colocccini returned from international duty last week with a groin problem. And the 31-year-old defender, who missed Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool, won’t be fit in time for Sunday’s game at Sunderland. United manager Alan Pardew is yet to put a timescale on Coloccini’s return. “Colo definitely won’t be available for Sunderland,” Pardew told SportMail. Pardew will also be without Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa against Sunderland. The 24-year-old will be unavailable because of a one-game suspension after being dismissed for bringing down Luis Suarez. And Taylor’s return to fitness after more than a month on the sidelines is timely. The 27-year-old suffered a hamstring problem in training after serving a three-game ban for his sending off in Newcastle’s defeat to Manchester City in August. However, should Taylor fail to prove his fitness in time, Pardew will turn to Paul Dummett, who scored United’s second goal against Liverpool. The 22-year-old had come off the bench in the wake of Yanga-Mbiwa’s dismissal. And Pardew was delighted with his contribution at both ends of the pitch. “We think Steven’s going to be OK,” said Pardew. “He was touch and go to train last week, but we just held him back. “He did some extra work. We don’t really see a problem, and hopefully we don’t, but if not, we’ve got a new hero in Paul Dummett.”
