powellnufc
Not much choice after Willo's mistakes in the last match He could always buy a centre-back, something of which there's been absolutely no talk this summer. Dont think Pardew has much say in that, and no chance Ashley going to spend enough on a cb to improve on what we have

Pardew said that he doesn't want to disrupt the defence and so there will be no changes.

Lowndsy
No one should turn up to this game. empty ground would make a statement more than protests
Pilko
No one should turn up to this game. empty ground would make a statement more than protests Aye, Ashley would have the sale sorted by Tuesday morning if nobody turned up to a pre-season friendly. Good idea.

Pilko
Nothing is going to 'work'. Protests have been attempted in the past and they have achieved nothing. Our farcical owners and puppet manager are not the fault of the players. We still should support the team; they haven't done anything wrong.
oldtype
Protests attempting to convince someone who wants to sell that he should sell would probably be a bad idea.

Jayson
Leon Best deserves to start this game. If he looks good he should then start against Arsenal. Out of Ba, Shola and Best against Leeds it was Best who in 20 minutes looked the brightest and Best who's touch and play was far better. Now it is time to see if there is more substance to that in this friendly. Agree, if we've not got another striker by that point. Put Best up next to Ba, he'll be confident against them. Id give him some time on the pitch regardless.

powellnufc
It may have a small effect on Ashley, but it will have a bigger negative effect on the players
Mick
It may have a small effect on Ashley, but it will have a bigger negative effect on the players It wouldn't if the players were as pissed off as the fans.

I don't believe all the players are though.. Had we slaughtered Leeds & Joey had taken all the set pieces we would not even be thinking of a protest of any kind. A lot of the players especially then new and youth players are probably still unsure about what is even going on, so for them to turn up to an empty stadium would definatly have a big effect on there morale and confidence
Guest Roger Kint
It may have a small effect on Ashley, but it will have a bigger negative effect on the players Its a friendly not the FA Cup final. The players would understand and no doubt wouldnt care as its match preparation they need.
