Dave
I highly doubt anything going to happen (mainly because I don't see why Ashley would want to sell), but it's nice to have a little hope for a change.
Klaus
I know, but I can't remember the last time 'disappointment' wasn't somewhere in my vocabulary when referring to Nufc.

Kanj
He’d monetize and make a decent wedge. He’s also seemingly tired of owning this club. Wipe his hands of this. That’s why he’d sell. It’s not hard. His valuation is prob as high as hell ever get with the investment he’s put in (including players) and he’s got a manager who will attract buyers. Probably also doesn’t want to deal with any further economic downturns as well owning us.

Charlies
I really hope something rather than disappointment comes of this. :yao: Have you forgotten which club you support? I'm trying to hope, who knows what could happen but the press reports around the potential sale of the club have definitely changed in the past few weeks. Hopefully something in it all, Bishops not this good
Decky
I refuse to get excited until something major happens. Ashley has a Premier League platform for Sports Direct. He won't let that go easily if at all. The only thing I can think of is he sells us because he's fed up with the protesting and buys another club. Guest ElCid
Lot of changing of perception from the media (who have been caught with their pants down) that has went from she was only a guest to actually meeting the cunt brigade. Somethings in the offing but unfortunately the banana splits will probably fuck it up. Our only hope is that he really wants to sell - shows that the media are clueless though in a lot of things and rely on rumours and guesswork most of the time. afar
What I keep coming back to is why she was clearly not hiding from the cameras, why they wanted her picture taken at the game. There's two reasons for that in my mind, one could be that there is nothing in this at all, the other is that things have progressed to the point where genuine progress has been made. If it were early stages like these articles appear to be saying then you hide her away in a exec box out of the gaze of the camera lens, to me at least the early stages are delicate in these kinds of things you don't want to rock the boat. I can't see her being used as a pawn to flush other serious bids out either.

Wallace
Wonder who the other two clubs are, who else is available? Spurs and West Ham apparently. I think only West Ham is achievable though, Spurs would cost more than us and double again to pay for the new stadium. If Spurs really is an option then it will be an indication that they have money to spend. There has been talk of Spurs being up for sale before and I can't remember the figures quoted at the time, but it was an awful lot more than we would cost and that was before the stadium. If someone like the City owner wanted a club and money was no object, then they would be a very attractive proposition. I would imagine though that if they did want to sell the club, nothing would happen until after they have moved into their new stadium.

nufcjb
Just woke up. Has the milf bought us yet? Might have been me having a drink too many last night but think I was floundering away at the thought of Ashley and his cunt brigade were enjoying themselves on a fucking island he just bought for themselves and a fucking hurricane was going to sweep them away. Not Irma though. Amanda was the name.
Guest chopey
Why would someone like her want to buy us or any football club for that matter? We have huge potential, our commercial income is a joke and could be improved 1000% with Sports Direct out of the picture, we sell out week after week no matter who the opposition is (have you seen the empty seats at arsenal and man city lately) the next TV deal will be huge and we have one of the best managers in the world that genuinely wants to be here and is prepared to take on a project from top to bottom, for someone with the money and vision it's a no brainer

Gives some interesting insight https://business-reporter.co.uk/2014/12/08/the-big-interview-amanda-staveley/ Thanks mate. Basically if she is interested in us, it's because we have Rafa Benitez. She said she only acquires business with exceptional management. Hope this deal comes true. If we have an owner who trust Rafa, and all the fans are behind Rafa, we can't fail. Eddy Chibas
I'm skeptical he'd ever set a reasonable price for a full buyout; i expect we're "for sale" at prices no one will ever pay. It's a legitimate concern, and we're talking about a c*** who is unpredictable, and is notorious when it comes to suddenly shifting goalposts. A full buy-out, to me, includes removing the spectre that is Sports Direct (and the advertising exclusivity it enjoys at SJP), hereby maximizing the club's potentisl to pull in commercial revenue, to become a powerhouse in this area. The worry is that the reported £380 figure comes attached with a dead weight caveat, in the form of say a 10 year plus stadium deal (of free advertising) for his golden child, Sports Direct. If a potential buyer (Staveley), who recognizes NUFC is punching well below it's weight commercially, wants to sever the mouth which is sucking from the nipple (for free) then Ashley will jack up the price. Losing brand visibility, in the PL, will come at a cost for SD, and he'll factor that in & shift the goalposts accordingly (if a buyer remove the SD shackles). IMO, that's the potential deal breaker. TK-421
As others have said, not getting too excited about this, despite the encouraging tweets from Caulkin that an initial meeting has happened. This is Mike Ashley she's dealing with, after all. However, in terms of time needed to takeover if a sale is agreed, would it be that long? Thinking back, it took Ashley from May - July (ish) to take us over, and that included buying up shares from everyone that held them, and then paying off the mortgages/loans on the club. In theory, the club is now owned by one person only, so if a price/deal can be agreed, surely it wouldn't be a long process after that? However, I'm also sceptical that Ashley would be the most awkward person to deal with - but she's a business woman... I'm sure she's dealt with such types before, and must have some idea what he's like in business already. Guess we'll see how this all plays out. Just hope and behind the scenes uncertainty doesn't affect the team - but I'm sure Rafa will do his best to prevent that.

They'd want to do due diligence and go through the books with a fine toothed comb which would take a while and that'd only happen after they'd agreed the other details and signed it off in principle.
