What was odd was going on the artist formerly known as twitter last night and all you could see was Liverpool fans complaining that they'd been robbed by the referee and it was a conspiracy against them etc. I get that it's a tribal sport and that but fucking hell. Think they've got to the point of entitlement where they expect to get everything go in their favour.

They really don't help themselves with the self-pity/victim tag do they 😂

Liverpool player doesn’t touch the ball, it deviates because Isak moved it away with the outside of his boot. There’s daylight between the 2 boots when Isak moves the ball. Was pretty close to us and the impact on Isak’s thigh was considerable. Pen all day. Also agree that Salah was different level 2nd half but he fouled Hall almost every time the ball was on its way to him. You can’t just push or nudge to unbalance your defender with your hands to gain an advantage. It’s little, it’s clever but when you do it every time it needs pulled up.

I know I have my black and white tinted glasses but I can't see any reason why VVD on Gordon isn't a red card, it is totally premeditated, needless, late, to the head and off the ball.

I didn't watch the game as I was training but did the commentary team even make a fuss of it?

Whilst I think Isak's should have been given as a penalty I can at least understand the VAR not over turning it, I haven't seen the shout on Diaz.

Seen mixed things on the breakaway at the end, seen some say the ref blew the ball as Pope throws it and Liverpool players stop in reaction, can't verify that as I have only seen twitter videos of our lot ranting about it. Even so the injury time minutes seemed light given the stoppages in injury time.

When he blew the whistle, we were 2 on 1, possibly 3 on 1 in the final 3rd, their defender was backpeddling.

Absolute joke

VVD on Gordon

Foul on Isak

Mac Allister 2 yellows

Counter at the end

Then they have the nerve to surround the ref when the ball hits Burn in the stomach

On the full time whistle incident  - I always  avoid claims of conspiracy or bias because it is nonsense.

However, I do think there is a element  unconscious bias here - i.e. the ref stopped the game prematurely as it 'felt' right in the situation - Liverpool happy with a point and it's not a disaster result for us either.

If the game is at Anfield at 3-3 and they are chasing the title, the ref absolutely makes sure every last second of the game is played.

Not even suggesting it is a Liverpool bias either- refs change their approach based on the consequences of games.

At the end - we have the ball in a 2 v 1 - ref looks at this and blows whistle

Liverpool make that break at the end he lets it go on to a conclusion for sure.

Madleys should be nowhere near Newcastle matches anyway, so many strange decisions against us, the worst of all probably the Colo sending off and penalty by the elder one.

I actually re-watched again in work as it was quiet and had sound on high and seemed to me the whilst went as Isak gets the ball out of his feet and in the still above you can see Liverpool defenders actively engaging FFS!! In a way I am glad I didn't watch as I would have probably been in the dog house for screaming at the tv lol

He’d just blown by then, VVD is pointing to the ref and had stopped. He wouldn’t have covered the run through the middle. Awful refereeing. Special mention to VVD and his constant moaning to the referee and cowardly barge into Gordon. On another day his dislocates or breaks a jaw, Gordon was completely blindsided.

Ignoring Salahs blatant dive about 15 seconds before he scored their 3rd

He blows well before that still image, there's 2 Liverpool players already stopped playing.

He blows as soon as our player receives the ball having watched it back

It's one to add to the list of non-decisions I'll never really understand/agree with:

He does.  But we were still going to get Willock in, I'd say.  Even if VVD covers Wilson's run.  That would have been a massive chance for a counter.

VAR are losing their shit over when to intervene and when not IMO. There’s absolutely no justification for not acting on the VVD hit on Gordon. Are they saying the referee saw it and decided it was fine? Or maybe they thought it was a yellow?

Same with the penalty, are they saying it’s not a major error that the referee missed a foul in the box? How can that be the case?

Makes no sense.

Liverpool used to get away with this a lot under klopp as well, their hands are in constant contact the thr opposition, they also have a habit running into players in an attempt to make it look accidental. There is a difference between pressing and constant fouling.

I'm struggling to understand what a foul is at the moment.

VVD absolutely did Gordon there like. No way that could be classed as a natural ‘coming together’ no matter how you spin it as he actively moves directly towards him 3 or 4 seconds after the balls gone. Should’ve been sent packing. Proper cunts trick.
