NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

to be fair all im clinging on to now is the hope that at the very least we don't sell anybody.

"“I would say that bad news is losing a player, especially one of our top players and I do believe we are pretty strong in terms of that not happening.

“We are in a situation wherein we can hold off any offers that come our way.

“But if we get players in then great. I do need a couple of players, maybe three."

Why is everyone worrying? :yao:

Find it irritating that Pardew is always telling us we have to be grateful to Ashley.  Does any other manager constantly tell their supporters to be grateful to their owner?  It just makes Ashley sound like some immature egocentric who has to be told how much he is loved all the time.  If we are nice to him then he might be nice back.

Pardew `You've to pay respect to Mike. We had a couple of phonecalls & could've cashed in but he didn't. I thank him & our fans should too'

10:41 PM - 30 Aug 12

Ugh.

'You have to pay a lot of respect to Mike, we've had a couple of phone calls during the window and we could have cashed in on a couple of our players but he didn't and I thank him for that and our fans should thank him too.'

I'm finished caring what he thinks about anything now. Utterly spineless.

Keegan would vomit reading that and so should we.

Keegan would have vomited and then resigned. Which would have helped a great deal.

He won the court case, proving he was right to do what he did.

Ryan Taylor's injury will make me think about whether we need another defender and I am hoping that is not that case and we have a good enough squad.

Oh come on! ;D I dunno what to say anymore, Pardew has gone into overdrive with these sort of quotes.

Van der Wiel joins PSG for €5m.

Great price for him.

That's 2 we've missed out on in Clyne and Van der Wiel, both of whom I reckon we could have convinced to come.

Honestly no idea why we didn't go for clyne, how much was he 5 mill ? Bargain for him I think. Thought Zaha would leave Palace and if 4 mill is true for reading, thats another bargain

Think Clyne was free? Not sure. Either way it's a bit of a joke.

Not a rumour as such but Sturridge is apparently allowed to leave Chelsea on loan.

I reckon he'd be perfect for us.

That's all

Not as good as Ba, Cisse, or Ben Arfa... therefore it would never happen.

But a shit load better than Obertan, Campbell and both Ameobis so it should happen

Let me get this right, we should be grateful. We needed three players, signed only one in Anita. Now we'll see if we need cover, fucking if we need to bring one in now Raylor is injured. Are you fucking kidding, do you think we are fucking stupid.

I like you Pards but you are beginning to stretch what i can take from you. Transfers i realise aren't your fault but dont spout that grateful shit at me. Grateful we are now run well, yes i think i'am but am i grateful Ashley is our owner. No i'm fucking not. He's our owner because he chose to be not because we wanted him to be. He's made a right pigs ear of owing us to begin with and has to be fair done well in last couple.

Now with us finishing 5th, a little investment would have seen us kick on. If he allowed you to sign two more players for our squad which is too small. I would have been grateful then but not now he's trying to gamble on staying near the top without putting enough money for transfers in for us to kick on.

Had a lovely day yesterday driving up for last nights game, when i got in at 2'o clock this morning i read i should be grateful we haven't sold anyone let alone bought anyone in last few days. Bollocks.

Sorry for the rant lads, for the first time i was genuinely angry at reading what i read from Pards. Still fuming this morning.

Come on man, surely you know this isn't Pards' doing.

His hands are tied.

I don't blame Pardew, though. He's only got to try and put a positive spin on the fact we're run by a bloke who appears happy to just get by rather than build on the fantastic progress we made last year.

Gutted beyond words that we've not improved on RB and built depth in CB/ST positions. We could be a great side, but the fact of the matter is we're still dependent on our key players staying fit in order to remain 'great'.

It's so clear from those comments how little say Pardew has in terms of transfers and how unbelievably grateful he is to Ashley for giving him the job.

I think the lack of balance in their relationship might not be a good thing for the club. Pardew has done incredibly well, but Ashley will always point to the fact that he is on top of things as he granted Pardew his way back into the Premiership.

Of course we need players, but Pardew has no "right" to demand such things. It's all on Ashley's terms.
