Disco
Gabon haven't qualified. Given that he is in form at the moment and not out of contract 'til 2016, are St. Etienne in need of cash at the moment?

Have to think they won't be looking to sell if they remain contenders come January.

He's an excellent player, and I would be more than happy to see us get rid of Ba if it meant we were able to bring him in. PEA can play either side of a front three or through the centre, so if we were to finally switch to the 4-3-3 then he would be the perfect signing. However, Saint-Etienne aren't strapped for cash at the moment, they have one of the bigger fanbases in France, are currently in the thick of the title chase and are in the process of renovating their ground. Therefore considering that PEA has already scored eight goals this season, I can't see them accepting anything less than £10m.
Ikon
According to Talksport (shit i know) we're after Sulejmani from Ajax (HBA type) If we are then we could have another player that can come up with some magic every now and then between the hoofy hoofs. Get in a new first team coach with a history of working with counter-attacking/pressing/fast-passing styles. Get him to work exclusively on our passing and movement when in possession Look to bring in a wide forward who can also play upfront: Miralem Sulejmani is out of contract at the seasons end so would be cheap Turns out I'm in charge these days. Interesting. We've been linked with him before a few times btw.
Mole_Toonfan
Robin Bairner @RBairner Rumours in France that #Newcastle have Saint-Etienne attacker Pierre-Emerick #Aubameyang on their shortlist of targets for Jan. #NUFC So maybe the Mirror wasn't talking utter waffle. Although we could go on a 30m spree and it wouldn't do much good if Pardew doesn't sort out the bloody tactics and style of play among other things. Ikon
Great dribbler, some magic. No but seriously, he would take away some of the attention HBA gets, always 10 men against him as he's one of our few dangerous players.

QBG
Sulejmani would be an interesting one, again we wouldn't be able to play this 4-4-2 nonsense - not that we should be doing so anyway - and I'm not sure where we would fit him in. If we played a 4-2-3-1 he could be quite effective in the hole and would take some of the attention away from HBA as some have said. Watched him when I went to watch Ajax last year and he's absolutely rapid. Raced onto a ball and tucked away a tidy finish to give them the lead. Didn't really impress apart from that but he'd certainly be a better option than most of the ones we currently have.
Belfast Boy
Would be lovely to sign that sort of player but it would definitely mean either a change in tactics and formation, a sale of a 'purple' player or two, or both. If we were to switch to a "Chelsea" style formation, selling Ba, and having Cisse up front alone, with Ben Arfa, Sulejmani and A N Other behind him with then two DMs it could work, but were does that leave Cabaye? Jack Flash
Not that it EVER happens with ANY club, but If our squad is so small we should be bringing in players in the first few days of the window, having done all the leg work before then. That would be the logical thing but we might save £250,000 by waiting till the last day http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Ash1.jpg
