TherealnorthernTOON
We see it occasionally, but he never uses it in the correct situations etc. wich is highly experience based. Think people really neglect that he hasn't been used all that much at manu before we bought him off them. He came to them at an early stage where he just came through and was very highly regarded in france. If he can get a couple of good experiences together with some confidence he could blossom rather soon then later. That people slag him off as an untechnical player with no trickery and only pace to rely on, I'm glad you're not the scouts of the club because Obertan got that in abundance. But as some people point out, there is just so much sand in the glass, and it's starting to run out quicker.
Elliottman
if he don't know how he use his trickery how can we see it? Well you wont, unless Pards can get the best out him. Doesnt mean he doesnt have it in his locker though.
Guest reefatoon
I think he suffers from huge confidence problems. If he had the confidence and swagger of someone like Ben Arfa, he would be a much better player. He just seems far too scared to make a mistake, which in fact leads to him giving it away and making mistakes. He needs an arm around him constantly, but the trouble is, there is nowhere to hide on a football pitch, and if he can't sort that out then he will never amount to much. Have mentioned his lack of experience before, hasn't played much since about 20 which can't have helped. Needs regular football but won't get that here. joeyt
Theres a diffference between footballing intelligence and just general intelligence. Paul Gascoigne an excellent example
STM
One of Obertans worst points is his technique, not some sort of hidden quality that he just hasn't shown us yet. Obertan's only strength is pace and because of that he should just play as a substitute.
