Newcastle United 1 - 0 QPR - 15/01/12 - Post-match reaction from page 42

Recommended Posts

I understand people leaving on 89 mins to catch a bus back to f***ing Ashington or some shithole, but people leaving before half time to stuff their faces and drink p*ss-water really narks me.

I don't expect everyone at the match to be bouncing off the walls and cheering for a full 90 mins, but unless you've got a debilitating throat condition, it costs you nowt to be vocal and positive.

Should be a sections for the encouraging supporters and a f***ing paddock for the sour-faced c***s high in the heavens.

oi  i am from Ashington and nothing like that  :(

but i don't live there now  LOL

Aye it's an absolute joke when you see hordes of people streaming out into the concourse to beat the beer lines. I was tempted to shout out 'What, did the ref blow for half time yet? Why is everyone leaving?' I love a few drinks as much as the next fella, but ffs support your team! . That doesn't have to be, as has been said, singing yourself horse for 90mins! It can just mean watching the match and encouraging etc. Making yourself heard.

The two seats behind me were empty for about 10mins into the 2nd half- I wasn't too unhappy about that as it meant I could stand and watch/sing. But it really does make you wonder why people bother. Thankfully in the Strawberry Corner it's got a good amount of like minded people like me who want to make a bit of noise and be vocal.

And it's a big shame because I'm sure there are a lot of people on here and otherwise who aren't able to make it to games and support NUFC yet would kill to be there and watch every minute of the game.

                  Krul

Simpson  Colo  Willi  Santon

  Jonas  Guthrie  R.Taylor

HBA          Ameobi      Best

is how I saw it. And we looked the most fluid of the entire match. Then he went and made it 4-4-fucking-2 again.

Looked like Jonas was central in front of Guthrie and Raylor to me.

Why on earth would you want a pint in the stadium anycase?  It's fucking piss, literally.

See SEMTEX's post.

I sing a fair bit but often nip to the bar 2 minutes before HT to get a pint, am I a really bad person?

Not at all.

I've never been one for leaving early though. I think people doing what you do is fair enough to beat the cue's. Its the people that leave before the end of the game which winds me up.

I know people try to beat the hoards getting on the metro or traffic but i just dont agree with it.

Why the urge to have a pint at half-time?  Just wait another hour and get one after the match or watch it in the pub.

Also to those who leave early, hope you's have missed quite a few goals because of it.

Because I want a pint at that point in time and I'd rather be at the game than at the pub.  It's not rocket surgery.

I never quite understand this desperation to get a pint at half time - but fair enough I suppose if that's what people want/need to do.

Fair enough, god knows how you'd cope during European games mind.

Sports Bar is good for this, pre order your drinks before the game and they are waiting for you when you come in at half time, decent seats in the middle of the Leazes End as well.

Sat there for the Blackburn game, still prefer my seat in the East Stand though.

 I don't see why this is such a big deal. People like pints. If they've got the option of piss pint or good pint, you get good pint. If they get the option of no pint or piss pint, you go for the piss pint. If there's no pint or no pint, you get no pint.

Missing large quantities of the game is a bit ridiculous mind. Especially as there's normally plenty of time to go at the start of HT, get your pint, neck it, and get back before the 2nd half. Even if the queues are long.
