Yorkie
Wonder if we'll ever see another striker hit the ground running in the way that he did. It was so exciting. Forgetting about the wondergoals, you've just got to look at goals like in the Liverpool home game. He wouldn't score goals like that these days, particularly the second one, which was all about composure.
sempuki
Chelski and Swansea away were amazing goals. Makes you wonder if they were a fluke.

He wouldn't score goals like that these days, particularly the second one, which was all about composure. Yeah, I agree. At the time it was mental, everything he hit seemed to go in. As you said, both the goals against Liverpool, the diving header, directed perfectly, and the composure to stick Reina and Skrtel (I think) on the ground before rolling it in seems like a lifetime ago. At the time it was almost as if we'd signed a world beater, looking back now makes you wonder... Villa (H) - sliced it Norwich (H) - shinned it Chelsea (A, 1st goal) - poor first touch Chelsea (A, 2nd goal) - tried a return pass to Shola Swansea (A, 2nd goal) - scuffed it
The College Dropout
Chelski and Swansea away were amazing goals. Makes you wonder if they were a fluke. By Chelsea I thought he was capable of anything - and amazing happened. Twice. But for me it was the Swansea game. He hit one of them like a golf shot, the other almost as good. At that point £10m looked an absolute bargain. But at the back of my mind, I kind of suspected it was too good to be true to keep up. And of course it was but the fall has been dramatic to say the least
Yorkie
Tbf to Cisse, last season he had several goals incorrectly ruled out. He could have been a lot closer to 20 had those really marginal decisions gone his way.

ads
Fair point but how many chances did he miss when the flag stayed down? He doesn't offer enough else to the team like some other strikers do, and as a goalscorer he needs to score goals and he isn't.
The College Dropout
The chip against Swansea was f***ing glorious. For some reason that's my favourite goal of his. Absolutely sublime. Reminded of something Henry would dream he could pull off.

Purely in terms of his goal record, though, it's lower than it rightfully should be.

But some people always forget those.
Yorkie
The chip against Swansea was f***ing glorious. I just bolted upright in front of my laptop and went "awwchh". Shake of the head and slow clap soon followed. Didn't expect him to chip it at all.

Unbelievable
I miss the old Papiss Cisse..
BrettNUFC
Cisse should be back in the side imo and stick with him. A lot kind of wanted him out of the side earlier in the season but only for a bit of a kick up the backside, not to feature every now and then for 15 minutes. Think he's been harshly frozen out of a starting position, especially now when no other striker is performing well.
KDT
Arguably our best performance this season but that's over shadowed by how poor Villa are.
Guest Haris Vuckic
I would always have Remy on the left & Ben Arfa on the right. They're going to end up there anyway....
Lotus
1st goal against Chelsea was absolutely fantastic. So calm and poised.
TRon
I liked the Cisse/Remy/HBA front three from Villa tbh. We had a real good shape that day imo Same for me. Even with Cisse out of form, he was occupying their central defenders and that left a lot more room for Remy to cause trouble from the left.

Skirge
In his presser when asked about Cisse swap deal... "eerrrrm well there's been no talk of a swap deal at this football club" hmmm could he mean that they want to loan Cisse for De Jong but we would rather keep Cisse? r0cafella
Only thing Cisse occupies is the linesman sight. The man is a lost cause IMHO. Ben Arfa Remy Gouff is the best we can do for now.
