Park has said (and taken a lot of flak for saying) that he'll retire when he's no longer good enough for Manchester United. Can't see him agreeing to a move to Sunderland, of all places.

bit sad he wouldn't at least come back home and play a season, given how apeshit bonkers everyone is about him there

He's disgustingly loyal to that club. Retired from international football at age 30 to prolong his club career as well.

No wonder Fergie loves him.

nice bit of honour in it like, bowing out at the top and all that but i'm sure there's a middle ground somewhere between manyoo and retirement

£20m on Carrick and Park....

£20m to spend

Not sure if there's any truth about Carrick to Sunlun, but I have heard that he is having a new house built up here somewhere, so he must have plans to move back to the North East soon.

They must be talking about the huge gap in class we have over them

This thing with 'class' they have. Could drive a man mental trying to understand wtf goes on in their heads.

It all started after the 2008 2-0 win up here when Ashley and Llambias allegedly did a conga into the boardroom where Quinn and Sunlun directors were. Then it was brought up again after the 5-1 by Bruce, when the stadium DJ played 'Daydream Believer' at full time.

Since then, Mackems have basically dredged up any/every instance of Toon fans/players indiscretions, and using them as examples of our lack of class, albeit ignoring any/every instance of similar things with Sunlun players/staff/fans to prove their 'classiness'.

They really do have fingers in their ears, when it comes to being told home truths - they just ignore it all.

SUNDERLAND FURY AT ASHLEY

Mike Ashley: Led conga

Saturday October 25,2008

By Niall Hickman

Sunderland are still furious with Newcastle ahead of today’s derby after Toon owner Mike Ashley celebrated victory in last April’s fixture by leading a conga in front of Sunderland executives.

Ashley persuaded several of his Newcastle directors and senior employees to follow him in the victory jig in the St James’ Park directors’ box.

Several Sunderland officials, including chairman Niall Quinn, left the room as Ashley proceeded to rub their noses in the 2-0 defeat.

One senior Wearside source said: “No one from Sunderland could believe it. Directors are not used to that sort of display. Mike Ashley and several Newcastle people started a conga, then started singing songs about their victory.”

We have personality, they're just a bunch of dour bellends.

Seriously, have you heard anyone involved with that club speak? They're fucking shite. From the coaches to the chairmen and on the pitch we rarely fail to entertain, which is what you surely want.
