Worst comes to worst a new club will form called Rangers 2012 or something. Still ashame as it effectively wipes out the history of the club.

I'm pretty gutted really. My brother is a big fan of Rangers. Wasn't born here myself so don't have the same connection. Still. Sad day.

Been good moments and bad moments. Sadly in recent years there's been more bad (mostly Diouf) than good.

Think any club going under is bad news and I think anyone laughing at the situation needs to get a grip.

It is understood the papers relating to administration were lodged by Rangers' lawyers on behalf of directors.

Mr Whyte is understood to be the club's main secured creditor via a floating charge over its assets.

This would allow him to pursue other avenues such as receivership or pre-pack administration to satisfy the debts which the club owes him.

This is about Whyte the crook putting them into admin to get his money.

Since when has admin meant bust for football league clubs, never mind clubs Rangers size? Their main case is against HMRC who have already proven themselves useless against clubs and managers.

Bad news really. I big club, Although I keep an eye out for their results I don't have any emotional attachment to them. Still it's a sad day though and hopefully they won't go under. What people in these circumstances seem to forget that yes a few over pay players will lose their jobs and not really be effected by it and will probably get employment elsewhere but theirs a hell of a a lot of staff behind the scenes who are on normal wages and will be effected by it all and will not be able to just walk into another job. Not to mention a fan base losing their club.

Dislike the pseudo-religious stuff that goes on between Celtic and Rangers, but still very surprised to see this and think it's a shame.

Has to be down to rank mismanagement though surely? How can the biggest club in the league go bust? Some of the financial situations that have been allowed to develop in football beggar belief.

Hope they survive for the fans.

Disappointing.

Celtic would have been funnier.

They'll be next.  For the vast majority of old firm fans, supporting their club has fuck all to do with football and everything to do with sectarian hatred.  They can't live without eachother.

Anyone who embroils them in the sectarian side of things isn't a fan.

The last sentence is true though.

Good job you don't qualify to speak for everyone. Some will be delighting in Rangers demise. Me for example.

And the Spl won't be about to live with one of them, that's worst case scenario tho
