The reason for the hold up is that for every new signing the club produce a DVD/BLURAY/3D BLURAY explaining Newcastle and how they envisage the new signing fitting into the team. Colo and Pardew have filmed their bits and Pardew has produced this huge tactical analysis, however the DVD has to be in English and the language of the player's home nation, however the dutch translation is on hold as we found out that the translator is Steve McClaren.

Seriously? Is that true?

Not very professional if its the case.

The reason being it's well known we don't like dealing with agents & this Raiola chap seems to be the biggest leech/parasite of the lot.  It will make negotiations re personal terms even more difficult, could be a problem if his wage demands are suddenly unreasonable.

The quotes on Ibra should tell you what sort of a bloke he is though, he'll play hard ball in order to get himself & the player the biggest pay day possible, and he doesn't mind upsetting people judging by the comments he made regarding Swedish fans.

We'll just walk away if that happens.

This forum should come with Prozac, it's like the doom-monger society at the moment.

Here comes it'll be alright on the night brigade.

 what the fuck is that supposed to mean?

Every single set of quotes, every article, regardless of what it says, brings miserable pricks out of the woodwork who say "oh this'll never happen" or "I don't think we'll get him" based on very little other than their own boring fucking downer take on everything. What on earth has that got to do with saying 'it'll be alright on the night'?

The guy is currently a guaranteed starter in a team that regularly plays in the Champions League and challenges for their domestic title.

I'd be pretty fucking concerned if he didn't have reservations about potentially warming the bench for a team that might challenge for a Europa League spot this season, even if it is in a better league and for more money.

Pretty much. Getting past Cabaye and Tiote would be a major concern for anyone who wants to be a regular starter in midfield. While Pards will value his utility player appeal that's probably not how he wants to see himself. Hopefully the 5 year deal and some words in his ear about his value long term will put those doubts to rest.

One of those sentences that doesn't make sense grammatically, then when you fix the grammar in your head, still doesn't really make sense in terms of meaning and context.

"You'll get your chances but you need to take them" should be our answer. Don't really want us guaranteeing places to anyone until they've earned it.

I think that is given tbh.

It sounds is more like position on the pitch really.

It looks like he is keen on DM, and not being seen as a potato who can play both fullbacks etc.

We obviously won't, especially not a CM who is completing with Tiote and Cabaye. As High Five says, he probably just wants to know he won't be stuck at FB too often.

unless the truth is that once he's settled and everyones fit "we envisage you starting in a middle 3 or DM 2".

The deal with psg took over a week and it was probably only to do with him trying to squech every penny he could get.

Not want to be that person. But start to be a little bit worried now

I think we'll tell him he'll play as much as possible. He doesn't have that much of a reason to leave so giving him strong assurances might swing it.

Playing 2 DM's at home against bottom half teams/poor European teams isn't something I'd want to see, so he might find himself on the bench more than he'd like.
