LRD
Hard to tell who will get the better deal in player performances if there's a swap. Cisse did have a proven pedigree in Germany and a great 6 months in the PL while de Jong hasn't shown anything in Europe's top leagues although he's younger and comes with potential. Both clubs aren't getting anything out of their current players though which might make sense taking a mutual risk.
LRD
Newcastle could have to pay some money as part of a deal, given De Jong’s higher valuation and younger age. Just saw this. Think it's just the media adding things up as they go along. We value de Jong at 7m and Cisse at 10m. No way we will top up money for a swap.

Guest
Could be what both players need. There's no guarantee De Jong will be any better, but there's more chance of him finding some form than Cisse regaining his at the minute.

bodson
Germans on transfermarkt are joking about what an idiotic affair this would be for Newcastle. De Jong definately not a success there.

Toonpack
Germans on transfermarkt are joking about what an idiotic affair this would be for Newcastle. De Jong definately not a success there. Means nothing really, Chelsea just paid £20 million for someone who originally wasn't a success initially. Football's full of such cases.
Darth Crooks
Well, Johnny bloody foreigner can keep his blasted opinions to himself can't he. Tranfermarkt? The sort of tripe Neville chamberlain fell for but not Winny eh? Good job too. Meddling bloody sausage noshers.
Ryan_Taylor
We don't need a swap deal. We need a striker anyway. We'd still need a striker after the swap. Makes no sense.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Someone should register on transfermarkt and tell Jerry that old Joe knows what he's doing. They don't like it up 'em.
TRon
Seems idiotic to me, we'd be back to square one , and looking at the big sho still starting. Would keep Cisse personally. Well if De Jong arrived what would be the chances of Cisse starting seeing as he can't get into the side even now? Personally I would prefer Cisse to stay, as I still think with proper service he'll score goals.

And De Jong's goalscoring form also depends on the service he'll get...he doesn't create out of nowhere from what I ve seen
Skirge
Cisse out De Jong and Gomis in then yes but Cisse out De Jong in does not strengthen us
NUFC_Chris
Still it's a valid point though. Cisse isn't getting game time and De Jong in and no outgoings would make it harder for him. Unless we ship shola of course.
