Lee Millar got back to fitness sooner than expected for them, that's why he's back early. Well that's the dipolmatic reason.

Great....did he play in 2 games for them? In case he'll be forced to play in an official game for us(let's say injury or something) he cannot be send on loan again, right? At least for another 12 months. Total waste but can you expect anything else from our management?

Loans are treated differently I believe. Tavernier played for 3 different clubs on loan during 2011/12.

Disappointed for him, thought he'd get a good crack there. Get him on the first train to St. Mirren.

Would have been massively behind this but think we've missed the boat. They've just brought in a striker on loan from Ligue 1 yesterday.

  • 1 month later...

Good to see him getting 56 minutes in a friendly tonight. With any luck he'll build on that by playing 10 minutes in March or something.

On a more serious note, he'll be 19 in January and he's barely touched the ball for us despite us being desperate for strikers in the last 10 months.

"I think the one who is really knocking on the door is Adam Campbell, and I would like to think he will be in and around the first team next year"

There is a fair chance, of course, that he's not actually good enough to be 'in and around the first team' this year.

The fact that he hasn't been out on loan is a separate matter but I wouldn't have him anywhere near our starting line-up.

Another one we've held back by not loaning him out then loaning him to the wrong club.

Not much you can do if clubs don't want him.

Oh and you know this of course. We offered him around and every club in the country said no.

It is a basic fundamental of the loan system, a team has to want your player.

Another basic fundamental of the loan system is letting a player go at the right time instead Of holding on to him too long as cover and never playing him.

Other than their manager talking openly about the press we don't really know what's going on and why that hasn't come to fruition. They way you were going on before you could have thought were turning all and sundry down for him just so he can stay here as back-up.

“Adam Campbell, Bigirimana and Haris (Vuckic), they need to go out on loan but we haven’t had the takers yet.”

AP, yesterday.

We don't use the loan system very well, admittedly there has been some improvement compared to previous years BUT it is still not good enough

The likes of Sammy, Ferguson, Inman etc should have been sent out a lot earlier and now the same is happening to Campbell, before long he will be 20 and will have next to no decent experience
