Those competitions weren't won cause RDM is a special coach more that Chelsea have spent a billion on players in the last few years...Drogba won the CL single handed, fronting a side sitting so deep they were barely on the pitch. See this is the thing about Pards he doesn't give a balanced response there is always and agenda.

Seems to me like he revelled in the limelight of our success last year, and rightly so.

But he seems very touchy about justified complaints about our form, and more importantly for me our very poor play and set penises.

You cant have it both ways Alan.

We could certainly use some more penetration from them.

ALAN PARDEW believes too much emphasis has been placed on Newcastle United’s tactics this season.

Instead, the United manager feels being unable to name his strongest XI has hindered the Magpies’ season and explains why his side has not matched the superb start it made 12 months ago.

Pardew has had no problems facing the questions of the fans since taking charge of the Magpies.

With formation and tactics the talk of the city again this week after the loss to Swansea City, Pardew told the Chronicle: “Everybody is entitled to their opinion.

“We are trying to find a way to win games with a lot of our big players missing.

“Whenever they are in the team they will be stronger – whether you play 4-3-3, 4-4-2, three at the back or whatever system you want to play.

“Last year we did not have the problems with the injuries.

“We were playing all sorts of systems and winning. Nobody seemed to notice then.

“Of course, when you lose games it becomes noticeable and people think we should be doing something.

“Well of course, in hindsight that would make sense.

“I wish I could play a game again the day after when we lose, but I cannot.”

So you change things for the next game, don't just do exactly the same thing that didn't work this time.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing if you use it.  And yes, people do think you should be doing something, you're the manager.

"I’d be 100% happy to go with the squad we’ve got at the moment" from 30th August.

And to think some people on here were defending our transfer strategy right till the end  :nope:

Why does everything that happens have to be an excuse to have a go at "some people on here"? You mean, some people in the world, some people who have a different view to you. Incredible really.

"Some people" who were wrong at the time and are even more wrong now. Not naming any names, of course...

I'm honestly not bothered about that, failing to strengthen is not the reason we have lost Swansea and West Ham, drawn to Villa, Reading and Sunderland.

Those are games we should be winning with the players we have, there's no point buying players if you don't know a style of play and system that fits the players you have.

Honestly i'd take buying no players in January if it meant Pardew got his head out of his arse and found a system and a style of play that suits the team.

He's been here nearly 2 years. If he hasn't found one by now that he's comfortable sticking with he never will.

I think if we had a few good options from the bench we'd have a few more points now. Those games were crying out for a good attacking player to come on and make a difference but we usually just get Obertan and Bigi which is akin to a white flag.

I'm only playing, dawg. My point is that most people (everywhere) realised we'd need a bigger squad than what we have now to compete in at least 2 competitions and it was just brushed under the carpet by Pardew when it didn't happen. Now it's dawned on him, when we're 12th, that a few more players would be helpful. Coincidence or stupidity?
