timeEd32
Me too, and it feels dirty but certainly for our benefit in the long run.
SEMTEX
I don't. My hatred overrides any potential competitors come season end. Especially given we have absolutely no freaking clue who our competitors will be. Talk to me again when we're 25 games in.
Beren
I wanted Everton to win. This early in the season I still have hope we can finish above Man Utd. It's got to happen sometime, right?

BottledDog
If we continue at our current average, I reckon we'd be right up there in the mix come the end of the season. If fact it would be hard to look beyond Champions. /keep up the good work!

Guest
Isn't it time for some rolling league table? Rolling League table after last night. Interpolic
I know what you mean but it's the first match of the season. No difference to any other game. Man Utd will finish above both us and Everton so I'd rather old Purple Nose had taken the points. I'm just saying I'm not really concerned about any results other than our own at this stage of the season - Spurs could win at Everton, we could beat Man Utd at home again, whatever. 37 games left yet. Same goes for Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool getting beat, I'm not really fussed either way at this point. That didn't really happen marra Well not winning. A draw vs the mackems at home is a kick in the balls for them but I'm sure they'll cope.

broonalegeordie
I love Daves graphs. Used to look forward to seeing the comparison to the previous seasons! Although I imagine they'll be shit if we start dropping below last seasons line and staying there.

Guest
Dropped down to 6th. Everton within 3 points, and Chelsea move from 6th to 3rd in one game with us & Spurs dropping points and Arsenal only holding their point at Stoke. Rolling League table after last night. Guest
We slip 3 points further back from Spurs, but extend our gap over Everton by a further point. Rolling League table after last night. Doctor Zaius
Imagine a thread like this on RTG man? Wouldnt happen. Instead they're all telling eachother how we're gonna suffer 2nd syndrome season in our third season and Artie Ziff is the greatest manager since err.. Steve Brewce. Guest
We've extended our gap over Everton by 3 points, and closed on Arsenal & Spurs. And despite winning 6-1, Arsenal's goal difference has decreased. (7-1 against Blackburn last year) Rolling League table after last night. (Reading = Bolton, Southampton = Blackburn, West Ham = Wolves) Manchester City.........................+63.........89 Manchester United.....................+50.........86 Chelsea......................................+25.........70 Arsenal.......................................+22.........68 Tottenham Hotspur....................+23..........67 Newcastle United.......................+3...........63 Everton.......................................+9.........56 Fulham........................................+5............54 West Bromwich Albion.................-1.............53 Liverpool.....................................+2...........50 Swansea.....................................0............49 Stoke...........................................-10..........47 Sunderland...................................-1............44 Norwich City................................-21..........41 Wigan..........................................-22..........40 Aston Villa....................................-15..........38 Reading.......................................-34...........34 Queens Park Rangers..................-32..........33 Southampton...............................-27..........31 West Ham....................................-41..........
Guest
This will probably take a dip before clawing some back over the next 8 games, next 4 games we have to defend 12 points, but the 4 games after that we only picked up 2.
David28
Think at the moment we don't look like we had a great start to the season but, after some time, it'll just look better and better because draws against Everton and Villa aren't bad results over the course of the whole sesaon. Same goes for a win over Spurs which is always terrific. Defeat at Stamford Bridge was almost expected somehow - despite the win there last season, too. Two almost must win games now coming up and we'll be fine again.
SEMTEX
The Stats Season: Up to Gameweek 4 Actual Points Arsenal (8) Everton (7) Tottenham, Newcastle (5) Sunderland* (3) Liverpool (2) Points - Points Required Everton (+1) Arsenal (0) Sunderland*, Newcastle (-2) Tottenham (-3) Liverpool (-4) *scum have only played 3 (in process of trying to make this easier for me to update)
SEMTEX
Despite Liverpool having the joint-lowest 'required' points total of 6 points after 4 games, they've somehow managed to find themselves 4 points short of that total. Everton had the same required points, but have overachieved.
