Uefa has revealed that the final and semi-finals of Euro 2020 will be held in either London or Munich, with its decision being revealed on 19 September.

Both the English and German FAs were revealed to have submitted bid dossiers for the semi-finals/final package at the tournament, which is being staged in 13 cities across Europe.

"We are extremely happy to have received so many bids to host Euro 2020," said the Uefa president Michel Platini. "The 60th year anniversary edition of the tournament will be an historic one, with matches played in many European countries.

"By spreading [Euro 2020] across our continent, we will allow more fans from more nations to share in the excitement of hosting such a magical event. Member associations will also benefit greatly from this format, since more of them will be exposed to an elite tournament and have the opportunity to increase the development of football in their respective countries. I wish all the candidates the best of luck in this bidding process."

Uefa also unveiled the list of 19 member associations and cities which have also submitted bids for the 'standard package', which entails hosting three group matches and one knockout round game in either the last 16 or quarter-finals, 12 of whom will be successful. They are:

Azerbaijan/Baku, Belarus/Minsk, Belgium/Brussels, Bulgaria/Sofia, Denmark/Copenhagen, England/London, FYROM/Skopje, Germany/Munich, Hungary/Budapest, Israel/Jerusalem, Italy/Rome, Holland/Amsterdam, Republic of Ireland/Dublin, Romania/Bucharest, Russia/Saint Petersburg, Scotland/Glasgow, Spain/Bilbao, Sweden/Stockholm, Wales/Cardiff.

 Since when does human rights matter to FIFA? If you haven't noticed, we're having consecutive WCs in Russia and Qatar.

Baku is, by all accounts, a great city. That's the basis.

 Ah well, that's that then. Guess we can look forward to sunny Cardiff.

who told you it’s a canny place out of interest?

Just what I've heard through the grapevine. Up-and-coming city, lots of history, cracking nightlife. I'll take your word for it, as someone who obviously knows the place.

Look I'm not saying it's cut-and-dry, "I MUST HAVE BAKU." It'd just be nice to introduce a few new venues.

It's really not that outrageous. Roughly the same distance from London-Baku (3980km) as NYC-LA (3945km, WC94) and not much further than Fortaleza-Porto Alegre (3218km, WC14). Not saying it's ideal, but there would be precedent.

Israel and the Caucasus states (and Kazakhstan) are members of UEFA, Israel for obvious reasons. I'm not saying they're European countries, because by any other definition, they're not. But it is what it is, I guess.

Wouldn't mind going to a match or two if they were on in Dublin. There's always a great atmosphere in town for big events like this.

I still think a 'British Isles' tournament would be class. There's no way the English would share a tournament though.
