KaKa
Really like Haidara. Santon wants to stay fit, because if this guy ever gets in the team, I feel he'll never come back out.

mrmojorisin75
phrased that very badly (for a change) should always have been getting a sniff in and around the team
Yorkie
Was quite surprised he got the nod ahead of Dummett, actually. If he's fully fit now I hope that Dummett gets another loan in the near future. Preferably in a league where I wouldn't nick a couple of goals. If he's fully fit now I hope that Dummett gets another loan in the near future. Preferably in a league where I wouldn't nick a couple of goals. me and a mate were on about this the other day, and unfortunately it's another pardew attack what we were saying was that a negative side effect of pardew's fearball approach and the plan to win every single game by small margins is that it's going to make it very difficult for him to integrate young players into the team and get them some proper development he'll always play it safe, so instead of being 3-0 up and throwing on dummet or whoever for some confidence building he'll always take the safe option "established" players unless his hand is forced through injury...or i suppose we're losing like last night players like good, dummet might as well fuck off on loan 'cause they'll just be floating about in limbo with us

AyeDubbleYoo
It might have been the 'never' get back in TBF.

Tbf, it's looking doubtful that Haidara will ever be first-choice (or potentially even second choice) here. Pity, cos he's shown promise when he's played. Why's that? Because Santon and Dummett are ahead of him in the pecking order, obviously. I'm fairly certain Dummett is not ahead, like. Did warn you, Yorkie. Know Pards inside out
mrmojorisin75
i thought i remembered that too, then i recall he did a patented half-backtrack and kind of muddied the waters himself fair play like, always leaves himself an out, no absolutes with ronaldo (as soon as he's called out for his absolute judgements)
Lotus
Didn't think Santon looked much kop last night but, tbh Haidara didn't really look a whole lot better. Was a nothing substitution. Didn't make us better, didn't make us worse.

I'm not really that surprised as from what I've seen from them both Haidara looks like he will be a better player. Competition is good though. Cronky
Did OK last night I thought. Yeah, me too. There was an incident where he was isolated and Dyer had a free run at him. Santon would have stood no chance, but Haidara managed to stay goal side. He made some over-ambitious passes going forward, but otherwise looked decent in attack as well. He looks to have a confident temperament and I'm sure he'll keep improving if given chances.

What was your exact quote? I remember questioning your logic to why you thought Haidara won't step up even if Santon were to be sold.
BrettNUFC
Must say, as much as I like Santon his lack of improvement concerns me. That said, Haidara and Dummett are not, and quite probably never will be, ready to replace him. There we go, pretty much saying Haidara will never be good enough here to replace Santon. Therefore he hasn't got what it takes

Ronaldo
So thinking he'll probably never be ready to replace Santon is the same as saying he'll never make it? Odd hearing such stupid logic from a disciple of Alan Pardew, like.
Guest icemanblue
An interesting defence. The deployment of ' ' seems desperate, but we all know Ronaldo usually has an ace up his sleeve. Let's see how this one develops.
