Feel sorry for the bloke, seems like he's been putting in hours in the gym as they asked him to and he still wont even get a shot at a game for us. In a team that lacks like any sort of creativity.

Dreadful the way we treat certain players. So badly managed, it's incredible.

He had one poor game away to West Ham, don't think McClaren has forgiven him since.

I'd even try a team that had Perez and Thauvin wide with Gini in #10, Sissoko in some floating box to box role and Anita as the holder with Mitro up top.

Absolutely, or Wijnaldum a bit further back alongside Sissoko but both with license to go forward (protected by one proper defensive midfield player).

Against Villa, if he had of started we would have won imo.

:dowie:

He beat Hutton everytime he ran at him. Hutton was nowhere near as effective going forward when Thauvin was on also.

If you're beating fullbacks and whipping crosses in regularly, chances of scoring are heavily increased. Amazing what a bit of creativity can do. Might not just rely a one big chance a game.

It's mint how we keep on losing and losing games and we've not turned to this bloke once for a start in the league since Wesr Ham (am I right?).

Probably start the Arsenal game and then get hooked at half-time, nice scapegoat for our latest defeat to nil.

Can't really compare this lad to HBA. HBA was a worldly talent with an attitude/work ethic problem. Nobody has ever doubted HBA's ability.

Thauvin seems like someone that is willing to try but there's huge doubts over his ability and skill. There's a good chance he just isn't rated by SMC on an ability level. That was never the issue with Hatem.

Erm, so if that is the case why did we buy him in the first place? Isn't McClaren on the board and a member of our so-called transfer committee?

Well you can, because that's who he replaced. That's why it's also okay to compare Colback with Cabaye. Them being different types of players has nothing to do with it, if one replaces the other you expect something better. As for the bit in bold, your hero Pardew did.

I have no idea why we bought him. If SMC rated him, surely he would play him more regularly? Perhaps he's needed to see him in training to come to this conclusion. I have no idea.

It's just the HBA comparisons are facile. HBA doesn't get into teams because a) he falls out with the manager b) he falls out with team mates c) he doesn't work hard enough d) combination of all those factors.

That doesn't apply to Thauvin at this moment in time.

You've missed understood my point.

You can't compare them in why they aren't in the team when available.

I don't think Pardew doubted HBA's ability at all. His exclusion for the team wasn't down to ability at all. How could it? It's application, work ethic, attitude etc. Issues that have plagued Hatem's career.

Supposedly McClaren had no input into the Summer transfer business.

In Mike Ashley terms his treatment, and that of HBA and Cabella is like buying a bulk load of Donnay trainers that could make you loads of money but for some reason you only put one or two pairs up for sale each week so no one knows they exist. Why the manager would do such a thing is inexplicable and in SD reality he'd not have made it to the end of the week.

I can't believe we signed this lad for a good amount of £££ and we don't even play him when we have the worst CM in the league and desperate need of a CB considering the state of Coloccini.  Shows how fucking stupid our transfer strategy is.
