Nobody
What's the problem with banning a potentially harmful part of the game for small children? It's not like they banned it for u21s, and it's not like they've banned Cruyff turns. They've banned heading for kiddies with mushy impressionable heads, hopefully it'll just encourage them to actually be able to pass the ball about. Tickled me for some reason. You're not Adam Johnson, are you?

timeEd32
It's for U10 in games/training and U13 in training. Hardly something to get upset about regardless of the reasons. It just so happens there is a growing mountain of evidence outlining just how harmful head trauma and concussions are, which is amplified in still-developing brains. That makes it a completely rational decision and one that I think will be quickly copied around the world.

LucaAltieri
How often do kids get concussions from headers though? They don't, because getting kids to head the ball is fucking impossible anyway.
triggs
How often do kids get concussions from headers though? I know fuck all about medicine and science but I think its more to do with the long term effect of heading a ball so much than concussion in the short term

Yorkie
Surely if you move your head into the header, there's no worries? I used to be a right pansy but love a good header now.

Very few headers from what i've seen until early teens.
Hanshithispantz
Banning headers ffs It's fucking daft Not to be all "eeee back in the day we were swinging from trees by our bollocks" and that but it is getting far too overprotective. They're 10 year old kids kicking a footy about, they're not going to go full Stevie Taylor diving head first into a lampost.
triggs
As others have said as well how often do kids head the ball anyway? They can barely kick a ball that high

Hanshithispantz
Anyone else have the Michael Owen footy training video when they were a kid? I'm pretty sure he was telling me to smash balls off my noggin repeatedly to get used to the pain. So I did.

Belfast Boy
I coach my girls team (u13) and when they play boys they play against a year younger. They conceded a cracking header last week, they standard at that age is higher than you may think, but banning headers is daft like.

I'm pretty sure he was telling me to smash balls off my noggin repeatedly to get used to the pain. So I did. LOL. Tbf my coach told me something at about 8 or 9 so maybe there's some merit to it. I didn't listen but i'm sure many did.
Deuce
As others have said as well how often do kids head the ball anyway? They can barely kick a ball that high I'll speak to the situation in the U.S.: the quality of coaching at the youth level, save for maybe the elite youth clubs, is still pretty dire (though it's ostensibly improving thanks in large part to Klinsmann's work as technical director). I remember growing up it was very much a 'kick it long and run after it' system that definitely favored bigger, more physical players. So if an unintended consequence of banning headers at a young age forces coaches to teach their kids how to properly trap and control as well as move the ball along the floor, rather than haul off and whip it deep, I'm all for it. These are skills that need to be developed at a very young age. Introduce the aerial game later. Plus I don't think the safety concerns are completely without merit.
