6 points from safety after 7 games

If they dont get a win from the next two (Swansea, Newcastle) they may as well start planning for the Championship.

Yeah looking at their next 3, if they don't get 4pts, they will be looking well and truly fucked after only 10 games!

I think Di Canio's tenure - which was designed to keep them up one year - will take them down the next.

How many million did he take out of Sunderland in just a few month?

A 3 year contract ffs.

It is.

Come on man it's Mike Ashley. He gives nowt away.

Why on earth would Pardew agree to a contract that only gives him a year's wages if he gets the sack?

Because it's a million pounds for doing your job badly & if he does it well he can stay for eight years.

If he does well, he doesn't get the sack.  What is the point of an eight year contract?

I've got no idea. It's mental.

Didn't we try and give Keegan a ten year one just before he left?

Yes, Keegan got the ten year contract - iirc.  Anyway, the topic is sunlun........they're pewur poo.

Just watching their highlights on MotD and as Gardner runs to the corner flag the hoarding says

"Newcastle International - Your Airport"

Ouch

technically, as shareholdings go, it's more theirs than ours I think.

Watched their game today. Their performance was one of relegation fodder. They started well, had a go - to use that often-used patronising phrase - and profited from Vidic's gift. They however just invited Man Utd on and the latter's confidence grew and grew. It was inevitable they'd score and just as inevitable they'd go on and win.

Sunderland's main tactic was hoofing it towards Altidore and hoping he could do something. He held it up relatively well when given the chance but the service, generally, shocking. The support, minimal. The quality? Non-existent.

They're in massive trouble.
