When they've already lost the game they don't have it in them to dig in and prevent it from being a hammering, instead they just fall to pieces completely. It's not an excuse when you've got a squad like Spurs & though they have had bad results subsequent to Europa league matches AVB says there's no correlation. Spurs were virtually a one man team last season and have lost him, they're a point better off (27) than they were after 16 games last season when they had Bale and 26 points.
