Ronaldo
He had 4 seasons here and the 3rd was his best. Souness killed him.
Cajun
So who is Terry Thomas? Definitely a member who was previously banned imo (given he has already called Neil out as a scouse cunt) but Mackem or WUM Newcastle fan? Still going Mackem given his past comments but I can't remember any obvious mackem candidates who have recently left us.

Ronaldo
It's Wshmag or whatever he was called. The guy who wanted Xisco to die in a helicopter crash.

quayside
I think some people misunderstand the idea of this thread... posting opinions that are just clearly wrong seems a bit silly. Anyway, carry on. Late to the thread - but from the title I thought it might be an opportunity for anyone who has an unfashionable view to let it go here. Like Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Krul etc have not put in transfer requests and we have not sacked Pardew so everything is clearly cool at SJP - that sort of stuff? Ronaldo
"The Garth Crooks Levels of Mentally Ill Opinions in Football Thread" Merson proportions, imo.
Hughesy
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I think that Sol Campbell at his peak was the best centre half England have had for a while.
Cajun
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I think that Sol Campbell at his peak was the best English centre half we've had for a while. We = England? Yeah probably, although I think Rio is class. We = Newcastle? Well, yeah he probably was Nah I like Saylor really.
NEEJ
Sol was a beast.
Hughesy
I meant England... should have been clear. I think he was better than Rio and Terry.
Cajun
Definitely better than Terry who I don't really rate outside of the PL (where he is class, was absolutely made for this league).
Hanshithispantz
He was definitely better than Terry, there's not even a contest there.
Guest
Kenny Dalglish would have turned it around given another full season.
Ronaldo
Better than Terry but not Rio.
Incognito
I meant England... should have been clear. I think he was better than Rio and Terry. Agree 100%. Best English centre half since Des Walker and Terry Butcher.
Cajun
I thought Tony "Donkey" Adams was class as well tbf.
Hughesy
Better than Terry but not Rio. I think Sol had the pace and physical dominance that Rio has never had. That set him apart for me.
Ronaldo
Sol was never as quick as Rio.
Dr Colossus
I thought Tony "Donkey" Adams was class as well tbf. One of my favourite bits of non-NUFC commentary is him scoring on the last day of the season, "put through by Steve Bould, WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT?!" Dokko
Sol was never as quick as Rio. He was much much quicker. When he was at spuds there wasn't anyone who could beat him for pace, he was a beast but put on too much muscle which slowed him down. These days you'd have him keep that pace instead of strength but back then ferdinands & Shearers were all the rage and doing the biz. Few injuries later in his arsenal career and his game was totally different. Early sol was amazing.
Dr Colossus
That's more of an irrelevant comment than an unpopular opinion, really.
