The Battle For More Points than 2010/11 - SUCCESS!

Recommended Posts

Outside of that first XI, I reckon we've got Taylor, Marveaux, Tiote & Gouffran who can go in if there's only 1-2 injuries/suspensions and I think we'll still be strong. Take 3+ out of that XI though and it's a big drop in quality.

We could have a really decent season if we keep people fit but our lack of depth will hurt us, especially if we don't recruit further in January.

I'm sure we'll have another raid for players with 6 months on their contract in January. Get them to sign pre-contracts, hold the clubs to ransom to get them in January and then present it like we spent billions and can't spend a penny in the summer. Rinse and repeat.

Yup, we have 14 to 15 good players but really we need about 18 to 19. Plus we are obviously relying on Pardew on getting his shit together on a regular basis.

Thanks Nut and Dave

So Arsenal are actually -3 points from the same fixtures but everyone is saying they are "back". The team at the top with the biggest improvement is Tottenham, not Liverpool. Liverpool still need to further better results than last year to finish above Everton.

For us, the points total so far is fine, and isn't that far off being better (Gouf miss from two yards etc.), but the performances have not been convincing, even with the full first team playing.

How have Sunderland got to that position on that many points when they've achieved 1 out of 7 games. I thought I was beginning to understand the maths of this. On ststistics and averages they should be on about 5/6 points

So Arsenal are top of the table but actually 5 points worse off from the same fixtures last season?

Amazing statistic really. People hailing Arsenal as if they're world beaters again.
