Greg
Had to delegate the task of logging on for tickets today as I was in an important meeting with a Minister. Failed to get anymore, old man was in the queue for ages. Oh well, happy with what I've got from previous ballot.

Mole_Toonfan
I interviewed Tim Vickery on Saturday night for my piece on the 1950 Final and he's a top bloke It's fascinating how much that defeat damaged one country and it'll be interesting to see if Brazil can banish those demons this summer. You t***.

It's a really nice ball. It just feels really comfortable to knock around. There's also something about the paneling that makes it easier to control. Might be the dimples? I don't know. But I have no complaints.
Trumpet
Just got a message from my friend in Sao Paolo (was my neighbour in my semester in Copenhagen), and he invited me to stay over at his place for 2 weeks and free tickets to 3 games: Uruguay vs. England, Netherlands vs. Chile, Belgium vs. Korea. That's unbelievable. Also return tickets from Toronto (where I'll be in first week of June are $919 which aren't too bad, if I hadn't already booked a 3 week vacation in May in Europe. Well fucking hell, I may look for a second job, to make the Brazil trip too. That offer of his is way too good decline.

You have to go man, Urugua v England were one of the first games to be sold out and Netherlands v Chile is probably a group deciding game.
Flip
Just watched a recap of the 2010 World Cup quarterfinals between Brazil and Netherlands. I will never in my life understand how we lost that game. So one sided all throughout. Japanese ref was miserable and the dutch players dirty (granted Felipe Melo was worse). We outplayed them, fucking Stekelenburg, happy he's in a terrible Fulham side. Can't believe that dutch side went to the finals, must be one of the worst teams to go that far ever. Flip
Arbeloa knee injury makes him a big doubt for the World Cup. I'd rather they played him than Carvajal tbh. Two very average right-backs but at least Carvajal isn't as prone to red cards as Arbeloa...

Already am on verge of getting a weekend job as a private chess tutor, and my birthday is a month before, so maybe parents will be generous. Fuck me, this is shaping up to be a great year. These opportunities don't come along every day after all.

Flip
I really think it'll be the best-looking stadium when it's all said and done. Just like every World Cup there will be some class stadiums, while I love the inside of this one, I don't think it's outside part will look as good.
