Adam Lallana, Clyne, Shawcross, Sturridge, Bent, Carroll and, god help me, Downing. All players we've been linked with in the past 3 years who'd either start for us or fill a valuable place in the squad. None of them particularly expensive apart from Sturridge.

Alan Pardew is a shit manager the end.

Edited there for you.

he's not the problem simply another symptom. The problem is Ashley and a moronic transfer policy and the thinking that just buying players from one sub-par league is a good idea.

Ashley is the root cause but the biggest immediate obstacle to progress is that cowardly negative bulb by the name of Alan Pardew. Kinnear would be preferable to this shyster.

on paper they're better but where was the effort? the desire? the fucking guts? So in reality Sunderlands players were better because they gave a shit today. Ours will continue to pick up their big wages and not give 2 shits about losing that game.

Would we have paid the going rate for those players? Certainly not for Downing or Carroll (pre-West Ham) and I don't think we'd have dropped the 12mil on Sturridge either.

Clyne I'll grant you, as we were damn close a couple seasons ago apparently. Perhaps Lallana after the 11/12 season and Shawcross back in 07/08. No guarantee they'd have turned out as well as they did though.

Wrong.

Lack of tactics and any sort of shape cost us today.

Sunderland are gash and if we had a decent manager we wouldn't have had any problems.

No, we wouldn't, because we buy cheaper players a league totally different to the one we compete in.

Those cliches you've listed only come into play if you're not playing football well enough.

I've never watched Arsenal and admired their "guts"

You've not even realised how bad things are under Pardew so that's canny rich.

Plenty of very good players have come from the French league.

yes but that doesn't mean you just do all your transfer business there. Other leagues exist, the lower leagues exist. Plenty of very good players have come from there too.

Not as quick as some seem to forget how bad things were under Pardew last season, and for all his faults we were never beaten 3-0 in a home derby under Kinnear.

Not this again,

We've bought from other leagues.

The players we've brought from France aren't second rate donkeys.

Time to accept that Pardew is out of his depth managing this style of player as he was at West Ham when he benched Tevez and Mascherano.

La Liga is fuck all like out league. Doesn't stop the likes of michu etc playing well here. The only league that really resembles ours is Germany in terms of physicality. What a manager is supposed to do is set up his team to maximise he strengths of his players. Arsenal being the obvious example

La Liga is played at a good, offensive pace with plenty of quality throughout. You can't say the same about Ligue 1.

love how the players have become sacred cows who you never ever criticize or think they maybe just maybe are not that good. Fact is had Williamson did what MYM did vs Everton first half or last week vs Liverpool he would be hung out to dry by everyone on here, same for Steven Taylor, see also if Simpson had played as badly as Debuchy certainly has. Why can Cisse do absolutely nothing outside the box? Why does Sissoko go missing all the bloody time. What the hell does Gouffran offer? Why is Colo still the captain after wanting to fuck off?

Players are anything but sacred cows mate and they get plenty of stick.

But imagine how you'd feel working under a manager who is totally inept and constantly talks your chances down whilst talking the opponents up.

As a professional player with no ties to the club, why the fuck would you want to stay?

Sell them all and get a new lot then, would that be your solution?
