Guest palnese
They will without 5 top class signings. Just look at that defence and CM from yesterday, man. Absolute shite. They need about 4 new defenders, 2 CMs and a new wide man up front.
Gallowgate Toon
Klopp at Man U would be sickening. Hasn't Reus been linked with a move to them this week? Would be awful if they were both there. Reus would absolutely tear this league apart, he's totally made for it.
LRD
Haven't been keeping track of this thread. Will Froggy be popping the champagne or downing some chillis in agony if Moyes gets the sack?
Mole_Toonfan
Mourinho has had Chelsea challenging with a CB and Ramires in midfield all season, its massively overstated how important it is. Even the defense being crap can be hidden through good coaching and tactics. Robson used to have us challenging for the league with Dabizaz, Hughes, Bernard, O'Brien etc etc. Good coaching is a lot more important than any individual ever will be. Can't seem to coach the strikers into scoring though can he. It's an ecosystem not one or the other.

Liverpool's overall squad isn't any better than Man Utd's. A quick look at Liverpool's bench every week proves that but Rodgers gets the most out of his players in a way Moyes isn't. Chelsea aren't even close to having the same weaknesses as Man U man. Terry, Cahill, Azpi, Ramires are all top players in this league. I agree you need a manager, but Man U have not bought well when trying to replace in defense. Rafael looks horrid under Moyes, so does Evra/Buttner or so on. Jones and Smalling and Evans are all mediocre players while Vidic and Ferdinand are on decline.
Hanshithispantz
I don't think Moyes is anywhere near Rogers level like, or that he isn't out of his depth at Man Utd, but he was never going to do anything in his first season with that squad. Guest neesy111
I think Moyes biggest issue has been the style of football they've played, it's been totally wank.
Tooj
Total myth that they played this amazing attacking football under Ferguson as well. They hadn't played that way for years when he packed in.
Jack Flash
Liverpool finished 7th in Rodgers first season though. They were 8th the year before and basically a laughing stock. It's only taken a few new players for Rodgerz to get them to the title after that. Moyez took over the champions and has died.

Si
That man utd squad p*ssed the league last season. They then got Mata and Fellaini. That is easily a top four squad. Without question. They have had an average squad for a few seasons now bar the superstars and Fellaini isn't anything special. Mata was great business though.
colinmk
In going for a manager like Moyes, someone who hasn't proved it a huge club, they had to firstly back him in the transfer market and secondly give him time to adapt to the job. Looks like they haven't done either, so much for their 'values' that Fergie was talking about. I'd like to hear what he thinks about it.

Klaus
He basically said, that he hopes they give time to the manager that replaces him during his farewell speech. Less than a full season is not enough imo, nobody was going to be able to match something Fergie had built over 26 years straight away.
Guest neesy111
So spending £65m in a season isn't backing your manager, righteo.
Jack Flash
They did back him in the transfer market. Nope. £65million should have been enough to keep the champions in the top 4, never mind top 6.

Yeah, but you're comparing the squads, where they finished before hand under a different manager should have little to do with it. Rodgers took over a Liverpool side being mismanaged by an out of touch Kenny Dalglish where as Moyes has taken over a side managed by the Premierships greatest manager. The quality of this Man Utd squad really doesn't reflect a side who pissed the Premiership.

It's completely going against everything they apparently stood for.
colinmk
So spending £65m in a season isn't backing your manager, righteo. Do you not remember the summer, how many transfer target they missed out on? They ended up with a player who wasn't what was required and then Mata who will be a good signing but he wasn't the centre mids, central defenders or everything else they require for this rebuild. They have spent a chunk of money, but as we all know it isn't the money that's important on the pitch, it's the right players in the right positions.
