Tiote is undroppable right now, probably been our best player in recent months.

Months?

Cabaye has been better than him in any case and while he does the role totally differently Anita never has let us down and we won't lose much from playing him.

He's been great since the start of October. Maybe not the best but certainly in the top 3 for me. In my opinion we should play all three of them and Tiote's form has been one of the biggest factors in our good run.

Really hard to pick a side with the players I want and for it to have balance.

Gouff should not miss out but I just feel Benny needs to play, his ability is wasted on the bench and the only way he will learn  to play as part of a team is to play.

Debuchy  Williamson  MYM  Santon

        Sissoko  Anita  Cabaye

          HBA  Gouffran  Remy

Same side as mine.

Great minds think a like and all...

No Tiote? I think our recent form has a lot to do with Tiote coming back to form.

Krul

Debuchy

Williamson

MYM

Haidara

Sissoko

Cabaye

Tiote

Gouffran

Shola

Remy

Reasons before I get lynched for having Shola in there.

Haidara for Santon simply because Santon has been a bit rubbish and if anything could do with reminding his place isn't set in stone and Haidara's only going to get better if he's given a go.

No HBA because the only place he's ever been good for us is on the right wing which Sissoko is really impressing in and doesn't deserve to be dropped or moved from. Behind the striker as some may suggest HBA has been garbage for us. I include Shola ahead of Anita because Remy hasn't impressed me that much when we tried him as a lone striker, he's been better with someone to help keep defenders busy either from left wing in a 433 or in the 442 with Shola. MYM I just think is better than Colo now. I would say 442 as well because its the formation that seems to suit the most players in the team at present. 433 for my money just doesn't carry the same goal threat

I see no reason why that collection of players can't play a fluid and expansive game. However, Pardew is only suited to a basic 4-4-2 with basic functions, so really I'd rather we re-built the squad, to an extent, with players that are suited to his tactics. We'll progress better that way, as the comparison between this season and last has proven.

Having a hardtackling player isn't always needed.

A player who is positionally good and can make interceptions is preferable to a player who is liable to give away free kicks in dangerous areas and take wild potshots everygame.

Like all Tiote does is tackling. As for unnecessary fouls and wild potshots, you may as well drop YoCabs from there too.

Cabaye has more than one Newcastle go to his name and is a much more complete player than Tiote though.

A move towards a more possession orientated style would suite Anita more than it would Tiote hence why I'd personally drop Tiote

A possession style doesn't really suit anyone else though...

I think it does, it just doesn't suit our manager.

After all if Swansea can make it work with the likes of Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge I see no reason why we couldn't.

Can't agree with you all that Krul should be up front.  :idiot2:

Anyway, I'll go:

                          Remy

Gouffran                              Ben Arfa

            Cabaye        Sissoko

                        Anita

Haidara  Coloccini  MYM    Debuchy

It definitely doesn't suit our manager, that we can agree on! I would just say that It's only Anita who clearly would be a much better fit in a possession team than the direct style we play. No surprise really given his Ajax DNA.

Wild generalisations are wild generalisations. I also haven't seen much wrong in Tiote keeping possession lately.

Our last away game suggests otherwise.

That's a fair point, but a small sample size against a Man U team who have a very average (at best) midfield, and a clear confidence/adaptation issue under Moyes.

Those potshots aren't example possession based ;)

I just think Anita in a busquets role is more beneficial than Tiote

I don't see any reason Anita and Tiote couldn't be in the same midfield with Cabaye. Tiote has been back to his best this season which has really helped the central defense and theres not much actual reasons for leaving him out

I don't think Anita is active enough to play the Busquets role alone in this league. When Tiote is playing well he's everywhere while Anita can sometimes be a passenger. It's a cliche but Tiote's physical presence is something that Anita can never offer for us. I also don't see the massive gulf in their passing ability that many clearly do. Like said above, we should play Tiote, Anita and Cabaye all as they really complement each other well.
