Beren Posted April 9, 2014 Share Posted April 9, 2014 It was a reasonable expectation to think/hope Man Utd would get dicked 7 or 8-zip at the time of the draw, I think. Fair play to Man Utd for managing a respectable defeat - but it's not much to shout about really. It's been achieved through 'handball' tactics (as Robben would bitterly say ), not actually competing with Bayern. Given where they were at the time of the draw, I guess it's a modicum of progress, but it'd be foolhardy IMO to suggest Man Utd have made any great strides towards being able to compete with anything approaching the best in Europe in any real sense of the word.
