Wasn't it one of the West Ham owners that told a fan on Twitter how much the Defoe deal would cost them because he had no resale value?

What's the difference between that deal and the Fonte deal?

Might think they can get a few more years out of the Fonte deal.

I know Villa have more money than most Championship clubs but paying Lansbury £40k a week still seems a lot for a team that are probably going to spend at least the next year and a half in the Championshhip

Fonte must be gutted. All he could get was West Ham?

I'm sure the £65k a week will cheer him up

You'd think that money made at his age, for someone of his ability, he's made a lot less than others, so can't really begrudge him of it.

Stoke and West Brom have agreed a fee for Berahino. Initially £10m, but could rise to £15m. West Brom have really ballsed up this entire transfer saga.

Not exactly worked out wonders for Berahino either. Finally getting his move, and it being to Stoke...

When young players get above themselves, its never going to be easy, I think we have handled it pretty well.

How is Nile Ranger doing these days, what did you get for him?

Stoke have been a top centre-forward away from being a serious top 8 contender imo. If Berahino can get back to where he was about 2-3 years ago, they might finally make that step.

Stoke is a good move for him. Not a great city, yes, but the team is alright. Mark Hughes has wanted him for a while and clearly rates him. Playing alongside Arnautovic and Shaqiri should be much better than West Brom's approach.

Pulis tried his best to ruin a promising career. Hope the lad is successful.

WBA are doing the best they've done for nearly 40 years. Berahino gets to progress his career. Good move all round tbh.
