Other clubs' transfers

Depends if they make it available to spend.  Their squad is piss poor but £12m could at least get them a creative attacking midfielder and another striker if they buy young and foreign.

I'd be amazed if £12m can buy you two players who are willing to go to Sunderland and yet good enough to keep them up. And that Sunderland know about. Absolutely no chance.

It's £9m with add-ons up to £12m, so they will only have £9m to pump back in on new players as they cannot be assured of the £3m.

On another note, I see Ross McCormack is training with the u23's after falling out with Bruce. Apparently hasn't been turning up for training and has a terrible attitude. Seems like that's one summer non-signing that we got right.

Apparently he rang up and said he couldn't get to training because his electric gates were knackered, Bruce stormed round, climbed over the fence and had it out with him on the doorstep.

Bruce climbing over a fence does not seem legit [emoji38]

Looks like The Mirror, as seems to be their MO at the minute, de-sensationalised their story after first publishing it, it now says Bruce just went round and took photos of the fence.

Van Aanholt to Palace for £12m nearing completion.

Another nail in the mackems coffin.

why in gods name are they improving a relegation rivals squad with one of their better players at a relatively speaking (january, stupid tv deal, selling to english team tax etc) low price.

Of course he did. There's much more chance of him developing into something with the standard of coaching he'll have access to over there. He'd have been able to get loads more over here.

He's on a reported £30k a week plus bonuses man

He'd not be on anywhere near that at any of the other clubs.

Jenkinson is apparently on £40k at Arsenal. Any lad going for over £10m should expect good money

You're right to an extent, but again, you've given Arsenal as an example. They have a huge wage bill and are known for paying their youngsters that come through their academy extremely well.

The really big clubs pay insane wages. The smaller clubs pay extremely good wages, but I am still not convinced that many Premier League clubs would have been prepared to pay Burke 30Kpw plus bonuses etc. I'm just not. It's pissing in the wind a bit because we don't have proper numbers, but here's a fairly good guess:

They have Lingard at 25Kpw and Rashford at 20Kpw. That sounds plausible.

Widely reported that Lingard has doubled wages to £60k
