Even he wasn't really a top striker, but compared to what we are spending these days, he was world class. It's pointless ranting about these guys tbh, Perez runs his socks off, just obviously limited in a few departments. Running your socks off is not a pre requisite for a premier league footballer Running your socks off is a prerequisite for a professional footballer full stop. Very, very few footballers are good enough for the game to revolve around them, and even then these days, even the very best players still put the miles in. The days of your Jan Molbys are gone, and anyway, Perez is a fucking wank footballer and isn't anywhere good enough to be considered as a luxury player. He's in the side because Rafa won't play 2 up front whatever the circumstances. What's wrong with Rondon with Muto playing off him? In Perez's case I think it's down to his ability to get the ball in good positions and lose it, especially as most of our promising counterattacking opportunities tend to go through him. In Perez's case I think it's down to his ability to get the ball in good positions and lose it, especially as most of our promising counterattacking opportunities tend to go through him. Funny how you went AWOL as soon as he picked up form and won us loads of points last year with goals and assists -- being the only player in the squad to do so. I have faith in the kid. Something clearly not right mentally with him this year, but the whole squad has been playing without confidence.
