Segun Oluwaniyi
Ghana growing into the competition They were twenty minutes from rightfully going out after being fairly abject in the group stage. You are right through, they seem to have grown through the adversity in a way reminiscent of Nigeria two years ago. Equatorial Guinea will be tough in the semis though, especially as Black Stars will be playing against 14 men in a crazy atmosphere.
sbnufc
Tiote injured or what?
Segun Oluwaniyi
Tiote injured or what? Seems he was dropped. Suspended for the group finale and Die has kept his place in team ahead of him.
Crayola Kid
Tiote injured or what? Seems he was dropped. Suspended for the group finale and Die has kept his place in team ahead of him. he wasnt on the bench either though, was he?

gallowgate_pete
What a mess at the back there from the Ivory Coast. Now 1-1 v Algeria.
Segun Oluwaniyi
What a mess at the back there from the Ivory Coast. Now 1-1 v Algeria. Bailly and Toure both terrible there. On replay it seems as though Mahrez was clearly offside when played in, though.
gallowgate_pete
New Manchester City signing Wilfreid Bony is bang in form. Two headers, two goals, Ivory Coast 2-1 Algeria (69 min).
Fenham Mag
Bony is the real deal.
Segun Oluwaniyi
Bailly and Toure are a mistake in waiting. Easily the weak point of CIV's team.
gallowgate_pete
The Ivorian keeper is getting right on my tits, rolling about with non-existent injuries.
The College Dropout
Glad Algeria lost. Any of their players born or had their footballing education in Africa?
joeyt
Be absolutely hilarious if Eq.Guinea win the whole thing.
Segun Oluwaniyi
Glad Algeria lost. Any of their players born or had their footballing education in Africa? A number of them, yeah (those most are French). What does it matter, though? They are Algerian by blood and clearly have passion for their country. Anyway, a sweet win for CIV. Players and staff seemed very emotional. Semifinals: RCD-CIV Ghana-ECQ Hope the winner of the first semi takes the title.

For African football to prosper we must develop our own talents and rely on that. Focus should be on coaching at our own grassroots level. A European B-side winning the Afcon would be terrible. I'm glad a side largely dependant on players coming through in Africa soundly beat them.
Toon Hoser
Be absolutely hilarious if Eq.Guinea win the whole thing. Morocco will be laughing when everyone gets plague.
maybe_next_year
Ivory Coast through to the final. You'd think they'd finally win one of these this time.
Toon Hoser
@ghanafaofficial 6m6 minutes ago #Ghana fans being attacked in the stands. They are ushered onto the pitch and more misses fly in. Game halted
TaylorJ_01
They moved them infront of the Equatorial guinea fans. Much easier to launch stuff now.
Toon Hoser
Now a helicopter has flown RIGHT ABOVE the fans behind the goal, scattering them with its draught. Good grief.
TaylorJ_01
By suspending the match it's just elongated the trouble and missiles. "Here stand infront of the missiles for an extra 30 minutes, you are safe now".
TaylorJ_01
They were much safer in the stand. Absolute farce man
