But say Pardew stayed for 5 more years and we won a cup whilst finishing bottom half. would that be celebrated or not!? It just doesnt make total sense to support a club you love but want them to loose. It means you cant be a true in the moment fan. Which fan thinks 5 years ahead! Its all well and good pretending you are liking bad results but deep down it must be hurting

What Pardew is helping do to my club hurts more than most results ever have.

Im not advocating Pardew. just dont think you shouldnt get behind the team. Its Ashley thats the main problem and until he goes this is what we are left with.

Aye, after all the word is SUPPORTer for a reason!

Supporters aren't there to blindly cheer as a group of cunts shit all over their club, or they certainly shouldn't be.  But I've come to the conclusion that too many fans simply care far more about that good feeling they get from a goal going in than they do about the well being or long term future of the club.

I think the end point should be fairly obvious.

I dunno just stressed with the situation and dont understand what to do when he blatently wont go. I will always get a buzz when we win no matter what the circumstances i guess everyone is different. Obviously in the end would want whats best for the future but we all know thats a change in ownership rather than replacing pards with ashleys next mate

Some people see unconditional loyalty as a virtue.  If you get dicked around enough times, you should have enough sense to not tolerate it any more.

True but some also say love never dies.

I know it can but some see it that way.

I agree willing your team too lose no matter how much you hate the manager is ridiculous. To me it shows you hate Pardew more than you love the club and especially if want us to fail in cups you clearly want Pardew to fail more than you want Nufc to succeed and nothing should be greater than your love for the club or wanting Nufc to succeed.

I was making the same sort of point a while ago and got roasted on here for it. I stand by it though I always want a Newcastle win no matter what. Will be going to SJP in a few weeks and certainly not going there to cheer for the opposition it'd be fuckin ridiculous if I did.

Anyway I'll say no more ain't got time for arguing now.

since I love the club, I am worried about its medium and long term future.  No one denies that Ashley is a horrible cancer on the club and the source of our problems.  But Pardew's management is clearly doing a great deal of damage in the short term.  Under his guidance, we will likely get relegated.

Right now I'd accept Ashley firing him, bringing another lickspittle in who is moderately better, then hoping beyond hope that Fat Mike gets caught exchanging child porn with Paul Reubens and Jeffrey Jones.

Baby steps though.

"I always want a Newcastle win no matter what, so this week I hope we win even though that makes us vastly less likely to win next week and the week after and the week after."

You do what you like, but don't feel you have the right to complain when the mackems come to St James' and give us our now-annual humiliation.

Sadly this is the key, mate. Hoping won't do anything about it, neither will cheering a bit louder at the match.

Amazing logic by some posters here. "What if Alan Pardew wins a cup in the next five years?", "I want us to win every game." Righto man, keep on holding the wall for all of us miserable t***s.

..And the other strangely touchy fellow.. no wonder people who tolerate Pardew's idea of football are confused tonight. We won an actual football match. The euphoria must be overwhelming.

I can see why people struggle to care for result. Love drained from them, my mate give his season ticket up because of this and it's not his fault and IT should never end that way for a supporter. Still loves the club and will return one day. That doesn't mean to say I'm anymore of a supporter than him, we just see it differently. I personally couldn't not go to the match, or not care what a result is or refuse to cheer a goal scored. It's just a shame Ashley/Pardew has divided such opinions on the club when we should be united as one.

Well short of shooting Ashley nothing else despite an empty stadium which would never happen would work
