Scoreboard82
Anyone's who's got the buses down before, what's the craic? I've got the bus tickets through but they don't seem to have a bus number printed on them. Do you just get on any bus? Aye, any bus iirc. They seem to make such a short journey last forever though. Last season when we were coming back, the buses joined the A1 and got near the Redheugh Bridge. After another obligatory surrender by the team to this lot, we just wanted to get into town and drown our sorrows. We thought we'd head over the Redheugh but unbelieveably we carried on past the Metrocentre, over the junction with the West road/A69 then up Stamfordham road and finally into town. Complete waste of our time and that of the supposedly busy police force as we were needlessly under escort the whole way. Not going this year. Not enthusiastic enough to spend the time or the ticket money. No confidence in our embarrassment of a 'squad'. If they break with tradition and pull off a win i'll enjoy it in the pub instead. Guest Geordiesned
I've been told there's an arrangement in place whereby if we lose the route is deliberately longer to stop people getting back to Newcastle quickly. Which is a complete piss take tbh. Far from giving people time to calm down it's more likely to wind you up I'd have thought.

Wallace
The buses usually come back over the Redheugh Bridge. Last year was the first I can remember them taking the longer route.

geordiesteve710
Have the police released any details of arrangements for this yet re fans getting the Metro?? Will it be usual ring of steel herded everywhere or will they do something similar to December and let people walk up on their own with a heavy police presence? I'll give you a shout in a few days, will do either if you have a strong preference, but edging towards preference to metro as not a ridiculously early set off and I've got the Mrs up with me that weekend. Currently trying to find someone to babysit her for a few hours while we're off at the match, but think she's up for drinking before/after with us if you fancy a day on the juice? Fenham Mag
It might help that there's not as many Geordies in the team this time. Just focus on the actual game and not the occasion.

Guest KingShearer
For the first time, have a good feeling about this game. Surely, we can't lose again! Let's hope the players ignore Carver again, and play like they did in the 2nd half against Arsenal from the start. Then again, all this optimism will probably go when we play Gouffran, Colback and Obertan Hope we play them off the park, 0-3 coming up!
