I might be wrong, but I thought it was going to be an Adidas store too, with more generic Adidas stuff too as well as the club stuff? Unless more of that will follow once its open/established?

Nah. I’m assuming the club will want to keep gaining as much merchandise as they can.

Wonder if a badge change may be incoming. I wouldn’t be against the NUFC one.

Yeah it will be, but my preference would be a spruce up of the castle one. We have used that a lot in the past as well, however I guess the NUFC works well for merchandise. I wouldn’t be surprised if we do go for the castle one, then go for the NUFC one for merchandise where it is easier to use, and Retro style kits.

Yeah wasn’t Man City’s badge changed recently as it was cheaper for manufacturers to produce?

Just been in, it is class when you see it in person to be fair. Tyne Bridge thing looks great and it's generally swish. Will be great when they get more adidas stuff.

Darren Eales was just wandering about with a geet massive Burberry bag. An old couple asked him if something came in extra small and he went off and looked for them!

I noticed Bruno was wearing a black baselayer last night so the sleeves were black. Much better than the last round where we had some players wearing white baselayer making it white sleeves. I remember complaining about it on here. Looked weird.

So I went into the club shop today.

It does look and feel much better. It is a lot less stuffy than it used to feel, although how that feels on a match-day or shirt release day will be a different matter.

I think they could have done with getting some better shelves, I don’t like the look of shelves that have the viable adjustable holes in them, but very few shops go for those types of shelves. Ok I’m being a bit picky there, and possibly looking at things from an interior designers point of view, but still.

There were a few shelves that had repeated stock, mostly the key rings and such, which were located at both the till queueing shelves, and also an area on their own on the ground floor.

The selection is decent, and I think will increase as stock levels rise. Going back to someone mentioned about them thinking it would sell Adidas things as well. I understand it’s not an Adidas store, and that’s a good thing, however the mannequins had a variation of Adidas trainers on them. Although they are not available to buy, it would be nice to have like a QR code next to them that linked to them on the Adidas app/webpage.

The NUFC logo rug on the top floor looks great, and I honestly think they should sell it for kids bedrooms, and man-caves. It appears to be just a bespoke rug for the stores aesthetics though.

Fuck loud the music though, seems like every clothing shop is doing that these days. No need for it to be so loud.

Any idea if there is still blue light discount on club site or JD?

Asked today at the "new" club shop and they said no unfortunately.

No longer showing on the bluelight app/website neither

I'd say they are sufficiently low key enough to not feel like you're wearing an entire football kit as an adult.

That said, wouldn't wear them myself and would only ever buy as a keepsake.

serious question are adults genuinely wearing football club branded trainers?

They will be by the end of this month.

Trainers are becoming a collectors item now.

I don’t think many of them will actually be worn.
