Surely we're just holding out for a better deal that will bring more revenue in the long run?

Mixed reports on this, some are saying we were struggling to find a sponsor (which is odd) whilst others are saying it's done pending sign off. Either way I've got no idea why this wasn't settled long ago.

I mean it would be hard to make that monstrosity look good. But what the fuck are those photos?

They all look suicidal.

They’ve just been told now we’ve cashed in on Gordon we don’t need to make any more sales.

It's a right cringe of a shoot like.

Definitely a fan of the shirt because I've been itching for something zany. Will definitely get it once it drops to an acceptable price later in the season.

The rumours were that we’re not attracting sponsorship value in line with even the Sela deal - but I’ve no ITK info on that front.

It would make sense if that were the case given that we’ve known that the Sela contract has been ending for some time - if they were bashing our door down to give us the big bucks there’d be no reason to delay.

It doesn’t matter too much until the new season commences - but there’s a good chance we’ve overvalued our marketing worth, particularly after a poor season.

I think I read somewhere that a few clubs have needed to find front of shirt sponsors and that the market/landscape has shifted and some clubs are looking at lesser deals than before.

I guess you have to trust that we either have accepted less but maybe on a shorter deal hoping the market landscape will change or that its just a case its a saudi based business that needs ratified, it may be the case we are arguing under "fair market value" rules on the deal but its hard to know when we still don't have a rumour who it might be.

Is it only the 1 media outlet saying something will be in place by the start of the season?

Massive, it would likely be pro-rated.  I remember this happening to Chelsea once, and Villa back in the ‘90s - I don’t remember this ever being the case with us

i don't think it'll make a big difference if it's sorted soon, it's all about TV exposure on players shirts with blue chip companies.

Agreed, get it sorted for the start of the new season and it wouldn’t be notable

Just like the training kit sponsor that hasn’t materialised after nearly five years

What?

I have an adidas addiction. Not proud and the club fed the addiction with banging launch after launch. I’m glad they’ve provided natural methadone for it with this monstrosity to save a few hundred quid.

I'm sure last year there was a massive queue for the shirt, there's almost no one outside the club shop right now

Definitely wasn't a queue there last year just walked right in at 8am.

There was a queue the year before tho.

And this is my question honestly. If the ownership are saying we are meant to be challenging by 2030 then letting us fend for ourselves to get a sponsor seems a rather interesting choice.

It should be noted that related party deals have already been loosened thanks to city's win over the Pl and we are of a higher profile now then when Sela took over.

Dunno 5 years of zero revenue even if it was say 8/10m a year (no idea if that's realistic just a figure picked out of thin air).

That's still 40 or 50m we have failed to bring in.

Every penny moves the needle in our favour revenue wise.

Still think the club now realise waiting for the ideal deal or partner is not worth the wait. Remember when Craig no Hope said a sponsor for the old training ground was impossible due to it being an existing place turned out to be rubbish with knox.

Yes think its now that they need to prove its not fair value rather than the club.

I guess we can only judge these things on reflection rather than speculation. If its true general market forces are down in general then its a variable that dents us outside our control. Unless we just make a company up to funnel funds in and say to the league prove us wrong.
