The new Leeds kit seems to be going down quite badly as well.

This thing? Don't mind it, me. It's a bit rugby and the Red Bull sponsorship will always be a little divisive but it's generally smart imo.

I'm surprised people aren't liking that jacket more, I think its absolutely superb - based on Germany's 1994 shirt of course:

And that didn't even look good back in 1994.

It's something different, it's not to everyones tastes. adidas played it safe with their first kit back in 2024.  Last season's kit was more adventerous, I thought it was a beauty. Unfortunetly it'll be remembered for being worn during an absolute stinker of a season.

For this season coming, it's completley whacky and out there, but I really like it but I can see why some people don't.

Worst case scenario it'll be forgotten about after 1 season, and maybe adidas learn from the backlash. Best case we have a cracking season and everyone will remember this season with "that" strip.

They started to go down the template for everyone rabbit hole in the 00’s. Even my favourite away shirt was just an Ajax shirt on different colours. After that we were literally getting the same shirt as Brugge.

Their other stuff though can be amazing, their originals stuff is lush and they have just brought a load of t-shirts out for it. I’d have them all if I had the money.

When they are great they are great in my opinion, but they get very lackluster.

Aston Villa fans seem pissed off with them for their home shirt as well, and Benfica have had to make new rules regarding their shirts including not changing the colours of their badge after their fans got pissed about with them messing about. I think Benfica have stipulated that their home shirt has to be a certain shade of red, with minimal white trim, and their away shirt the other way around. Their 3rd shirt can be anything so long as it doesn’t resemble Sporting Lisbon or Porto, and still has a full colourised badge.

yeah the originals stuff is good. The black tracksuit top is one of my fav item of clothes I own and the 95 re releases are great but the football kits are terrible. One of the few original things they did was the magpie feather top but that wasn’t particularly well designed.

theres guys on here @Kid Icarus for example that have designed far better than these guys that get paid fortunes for worse. Always seems to be the way

If they gave us hoops or a checkered pattern, I’d be so fucking pissed.

I've had this conversation with a few people recently wondering if this particular kit is essentially a bit of live market research or consumer training to see if people don't give a monkey's/will accept it so long as it's black and white, before doing something really out there at a later date

btw that’s another good point the international stuff adidas have done for the World Cup teams and the ones that didn’t quite make it are largely absolutely class must have put the interns and new starts on the club football

Not daft are they, they'll have their baseline in terms of club gear and know what they're going to sell no matter what it looks like.

Whereas the national team stuff is more lifestyle wear or more likely to be bought by people not from/who don't support that country, so in theory it's a far bigger target audience. Like a lot of us would probably wear an Italy tracksuit top or a Mexico shirt but would we fuck wear a Liverpool or Arsenal one. Obviously some might wear stuff from overseas clubs, I've got a Real Madrid tracky top and a Juventus training top for example, but they were more due to needing something and the JD sale being on rather than them being that nice

that anthem jacket looks awful

It's not a great jacket but that Jauoen is one of those unfortunate people who make everything look a bit shit isn't he. He just looks like a giant version of one of the yoofs you see swinging disconsolately on a swing in a knacked playground at 9pm on a Friday.

That strip they made for Copenhagen last season is class.

The strip they made for Juventus this season is acceptable.

I wonder why they don’t try putting pin stripes on Man Utd’s shirt? How about random dots on Arsenals? What about making Liverpools shirt have stripes on it?

People keep saying that there isn’t much you can do with a striped shirt to make it look different yet they don’t fuck around with shirts of teams they have solid colours for, save for Bayern who’s fans are also getting pissed off by it.

Give us that Copenhagen template, or the template that they use for South American clubs who play in black and white stripes.

How about we change their 3 stripes logo to the fucking Doppler effect?

Did they not fuck about way man utds kit bout 6/7 years ago lol have black lines going horizontal from the middle of the shirt to it was eventually all black at the bottom, even had man utds 1st choice kit black shorts and socks instead of their normal white shorts and black socks, remember being stunned at the time how man utd fans didn't seem to give a shit about it...
