Guest Howaythetoon
Given his contribution is zero, it's basically a £15m windfall without any damage to the first XI. I know it's strengthening a rival but if they don't buy him they'll buy someone else so they're going to strengthen regardless. Just f***ing sick we won't put another 15m with it and get a proper striker for 30m. Perfectly capable of doing it but they absolutely refuse to do do. I honestly think it’s more about wages more than the actual fee to buy a player that holds us back these days. Oh and if true, 15m, it’s a no brainier. It's the whole package. Wages, agent fees, image rights etc. The bigger the deal, the more money flows out on things Ashley doesn't believe in. Yep, he values players in the same way he values his SD staff. There to do a job for a pittance and to be happy they have a job.

Big Geordie
£15million? Sell - if true. Hopefully it will be reinvested although I won't hold my breath.
ponsaelius
It's not even just about the money. We have a full 25 man squad so somebody needs to go. It might as well be a player who can't even make the matchday squad and Rafa clearly doesn't fancy. Right now other than Colback he's the most expendable of the whole 25. Si
It'll take more than Locadia and Mitrovic to keep Brighton up, like. Not sure about that.

54
Yeah we need to sell at that tbh, I like him, and hoped he'd come good but Rafa clearly doesn't favour him and that too much money to say no too.
mrmojorisin75
So we take the £15m from Mitro and add it to the £20m we were going to spend on Jorgensen and go right out and get a £35m striker yeah? That's how these things work surely.
Carlito
£15m??

ponsaelius
I mean any normal club would just unregister knackers like Colback etc, but it's clearly being used as one of the many excuses to stop Rafa signing people. He spent the whole summer saying we needed to shift players out the door.
Guest neesy111
I'd sell at that price IF I TRUSTED THOSE WANKERS TO BUY A REPLACEMENT.
Guest reefatoon
“Rafa can have all the money the club can generate through sales and other means”. As fun as it is to rehash things Ashley or the club have said in the past it's the most pointless thing ever really. Like pushing water up a hill. Guest firetotheworks
Don't believe they've doubled the bid but it's a yes from me if it's immediately reinvested and a no if it's not. So it's a no from me.

wormy
So if we got £15m for Mitro, does that get added to the £15m we already seem to have available for a new striker? £30m available for a striker?

Probably looking at around £11m that could be reinvested which we all know wouldn't be.
Heron
In this window now, as it stands, I wouldn't accept until we had a striker over the line into the club, which won't happen I suspect so I wouldn't sell.

Why not? As it stands, he never even makes the bench despite us being chronically goal shy. I'd hazard a guess that Rafa rates Ted Striker more than he does Mitrovic the striker. But we would be selling to a relegation rival? He'd probably hit a purple patch knowing our luck.
