AyeDubbleYoo
I mean, if they definitely weren't going to sell to us it would be over by now, surely? No matter how much of a Peace he is, seems weird to keep a really valuable player you aren't using.

No matter how much of a Peace he is, seems weird to keep a really valuable player you aren't using. Said it last night, this might turn out like the Carroll deal, where we said repeatedly he wasn't for sale. Then the offer got to £35m and Carroll (allegedly) put a transfer request in. I guess if Berahino wants the move and WBA hold firm, it may take him to put a request in, then WBA can say he forced the issue. Then again, they may still keep him... they don't seem to mind having an unhappy player as it stands, so..

No matter how much of a Peace he is, seems weird to keep a really valuable player you aren't using. Very strange that they haven't responded at all to our offer yet as well. Might be wishful thinking but could it be that Peace will sell at that price but won't do so until nearer the deadline so there's no time for Pulis to ask him for the cash to spend? If he rejects it now we might move on, but if he doesn't respond at all we'll wait (for how long who knows) and he can come back closer to the deadline and accept it claiming it had to be considered by the board for a while. Also we may even increase the offer in the mean time, so its win win for him.

It could also be like the transfer window with Odemwingie where WBA just refused to do business.

Peppe
Blatantly going to Spurs then, with captain Picard going the other way how much Newcastle or Tottenham offer How is it blatant? They don't want to sell to us, Tottenham want him, they want Pritchard, player would rather go to Spurs = no other possible outcome
Teasy
Pritchard deal is already agreed, so no leverage there.
RobS
Peace and WBA just gonna shut the doors and wait for tomorrow, fuck em they can loose big money and sell him on the cheap for a lot less in the summer, idiot
JH
Pearce is cutting off his nose to spite his face here. His options are: - Sell him now and get a decent amount of money - Keep him til the Summer, pay an unhappy player to do nothing for a few months and sell him for a minor amount of money - Keep him til his contract runs out, pay an extremely unhappy player for a year and a half and get nothing for him Oh you're so brave and clever Jeremy

Possibly, one hell of a price to pay though to deprive a club seven points behind you of goals. I could understand it if it was a case of damaging their chances and helping ours, but with him not playing for them they aren't going to be worse off themselves if he goes. The thing is though if we move on to another target (Remy) then all he has done is rejected £21m for player they don't play, and haven't even succeeded in placing us in a weakened position. Seven points ahead of us, and with £25m to spend on someone who would actually play (if they'd accepted an offer earlier, could see them stretch the gap. It's not like we're taking a player who is playing for them every week. It's just a warped viewpoint for him to take - very 'glass half empty'. Yeah that's a point, if we did get Remy instead because they refuse to do a deal on Berahino then Peace would probably have helped us in the short term. Obviously long term Berahino is the better option, but just for this season and what will keep us up Remy is the absolute best option IMO

Their signing of Dembele fell through so they'll be in the market for a striker...
