Marmoset
The Ronaldo at Manchester and his first couple of seasons at Madrid wasn't 'just' a goalscorer too.
mozy
Leaving the endless CRonaldo debate aside for a moment, I'm not convinced this Portugal team is very good at all. That 17/2 for them not to qualify isn't looking too bad now.
The College Dropout
Without Ronaldo, Real don't make it to the CL final. Before Ronaldo, Real didn't run deep in that competition every year. I don't know much about Zidane's time at Juve but I know Paul Lambert marked him out of 1 CL final and they lost another CL final. Ronaldo's been better the last 3 seasons at Real, than Zidane ever was for the club. Club career, Ronaldo is way more impressive than Zidane. Only 1 player i've ever seen is close to the consistency Ronaldo performs at week in week out. Perhaps for people that don't watch him regularly, you can say "all you will remember is stats". But I will remember him winning matches for Real / Man Utd week in week out forever.

Altamullan
Hungary draw with Portugal, Iceland beat Austria, then Portugal third (3pts 0GD, same as NI). Hungary beat Portugal, then CYa CRon, irrespective of whether 4th or 3rd. Portugal win, then likely that Hungary play England in last 16 (Caveat is if Iceland beat Austria, then they have 5 pts like Portugal, pushing Hungary into 3rd). ponsaelius
Portugal are now in the strange position that it's now preferable to finish 3rd rather than 2nd (to be in the easy half of the draw) and they're guaranteed as a 3rd placed qualifier with a draw. Put money on Hungary and Portugal drawing. Winning the group would also put them in that half of the draw, but winning opens up the possibility of finishing 2nd rather than 1st (if Iceland win). TenkoDaLuz
He has thrown that microphone to the lake because it is a mic from a portuguese news network that is nothing but sensionalism, and has delivered headlines like: - Ronaldo flew to his boyfriend in Morocco - Ronaldo in a case of sexual harassment with a minor aged girl So he hates them. Everyone does. I mean, this newspaper has delivered epic frontpages like "Nuns whipped by priest", "Cop found to be a pornstar", "Sporting Lisbon wants Benzema", "Church needs more exorcists", and so on. Needless to say this is the most famous newspaper around here and oversells all the competition constantly.

TenkoDaLuz
What did he ask him? "Ronaldo, are you prepared for the match today?" I've explained above why Ronaldo did this.

Wullie
height=700https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ClkFQCKWQAElfj9.jpg[/img] Austria have been my biggest disappointment of the tournament. Must be chaos in the squad, dropped their main striker after one game, now dropped another of their main front players.
