Be interesting to see how that one doesn’t work out, because none of them do.

Wonder whether Bruno Fernandes will adapt well to being challenged for the main man role.

Wolves best be careful about replacing him, hes responsible for so many of their goals. I suspect they’ll pocket the change and buy someone inferior, gambling on the football league guests not having the quality or funds.

They’ve been good without him when needed recently tbh.

Simon Jordan:

“I had a conversation with Gary O’Neil about him and what a good player he was, and how potentially challenging he was to the other players because of the manner in which he wanted to operate and felt that he was beyond questioning about things such as timekeeping and other things like that.

“No doubt this boy can play. No doubt this boy is a top club player. Whether he can get away with what he’s getting away with at Wolves at another club… guaranteed a big club will take him. Like, every player who is a problem managers think they can solve problems, so they think ‘this won’t happen to me’.

“If he goes to a bigger club environment where the dressing room is bigger, bolder, more standard-oriented dressing room, with all due respect to what’s happening at Wolves, then maybe he won’t be allowed to get away with that. But he is a player.”

Probably doesn’t hurt that he and the manager speak the same language

Guess we'll see how it plays out.

If the going gets tough can see him being a massive headache.

So 15th placed Manchester United with a massive wage bill and no Europe are buying Cunha for £62,5m, probably with more singnings lined up, because they really deserve a high spending cap compared to other teams.

They have high revenue.

That wage bill is about to decrease massively. 25% deduction on all player salaries for no CL football.

There's no indication of what Cunha will be on but it's expected to be in and around £200k a week. We're saving £335k a week from Eriksen, Evans and Lindelof leaving.

Yes I know. The system allows them to spend lots regardless of actual performances..

It's not regardless of performance though is it?

We'll probably spend £100-130m this summer without sales. Had we won the Europa League or finished in the CL spots in the league, it would have been double that.

Probably about the same as us. We finished top 5, got CL, and I think we've been running at a net positive overall the last 3 windows..

But you didn't have CL football this year. So why would the wage bill be reducing for not having CL football?

That's a win no? Being able to spend as much as a club that has double your revenue?

I'd say being allowed to spend equal (at least) to the top 5 teams is a bigger win when you finish 15th, didn't qualify for Europe, and didn't win anything.

Because it's every season. It's in their contracts, unless it's been negotiated out of it upon renewal.

Highly unlikely to affect the likes of Bruno Fernandes or Amad who renewed recently, or new signings like Ugarte/De Ligt because we weren't in the CL when they signed or renewed, but it will take effect with players like Casemiro, Maguire, Shaw etc.

Been a well documented clause now for a long time as a safeguard against poor performance.

I'm calling bullshit. There is no way the players have a clause that reduces their contract by 25% EVERY season they're not on the champions league. You'd have the whole squad on revolt.

Aye, ask Onana. Apparently going mental about it and wanting sold.

The squad are paid massive wages to get us into the Champions League, why would they revolt when they've failed to do so? Especially the likes of Onana who was solely responsible for us going out of the CL the year before, and largely to blame for the goal that lost us the final.

It's a well documented clause, but doesn't look like it's in play any more with new signings and renewals.

That's a 44% reduction in pay over two years. It's nonsense.

Why are you focusing on the reduction, and not the increase? 25% increase for qualifying, which they've all got multiple times as well.

Froggy you know my friend bumped into Onana at an airport in Uganda - he was very critical of the setup at Man Utd

Was sat with him for about 2 hours as well having a chinwag. Hold on let me find a photo.

I think I've seen enough of Onana to be honest mate. His face makes me angry. He's one of the worst players we've ever had.

There must be a misunderstanding here.

Say I join Man Utd on £100k. We miss out on CL football so my salary goes down to £75k the next season. If we miss the CL again, what is my salary then...?
