I'm fairly confident, even without having seen him play (that I can recall at least), that Greece's best goalkeeper is at a high enough level to see us through 1-3 games until Pope is ready. We're not going to pass up on £5-8m + remaining value of his contract for Dubravka for such a small amount of games.

Checko Posted Saturday at 19:36 Share Posted Saturday at 19:36 Sounded from Hope's video the other day that they would basically be buying out his contract. So maybe about £1,000,000 is my guess, plus we save about a million on wages. Good luck to him.
SUPERTOON Posted Saturday at 19:36 Share Posted Saturday at 19:36 Similar to when Shelvey left and we were left a bit short, a mix of respecting the players wishes and saving a bit of money. Don’t think it means we will get a keeper this window.

Superior Acuña Posted Saturday at 19:37 Share Posted Saturday at 19:37 A lot have put down a lot of our shit form last season down to him being in for Pope, deserves a lot of credit for this recent run. Def going out on a high if he’s going
The Prophet Posted Saturday at 19:39 Share Posted Saturday at 19:39 From the club's PoV, it's the last opportunity to make a bit of cash off him. He's what? 36 and going through a purple patch. We've been guilty of not capitalising on these opportunities before.

Playmaker Posted Saturday at 19:48 Share Posted Saturday at 19:48 https://www.instagram.com/martindubravka/p/Ch-qbBJNvIh/ Never Forget The club must feel pretty confident in getting Trafford from Burnley, also just checked how Burnley did in the EFL cup, they got knocked out in the second round to wolves and he wasn’t playing. So not cup tied if he does come to us.

But selling a 36yo Dubs with 6 months left on his contract won’t generate much cash anyway. If we do let him go this month, I hope it won’t haunt us and cost us Champions League/European qualification or the Carabao Cup trophy. Pope has not been the same player this season. Tiotes Witch Doctor Posted Saturday at 22:40 Share Posted Saturday at 22:40 The thought of Pope coming back in with his square boots on Dubravkas distribution has been a massive reason we've managed to turn things around, I think our play would regress massively if he went out of the team. Not a chance Howe doesn't give the No1 spot back to Pope for the rest of the season even if we sign a new keeper IMO.
Mazzy Posted Saturday at 22:55 Share Posted Saturday at 22:55 IF he's going for £8M as some unbelievable sources have said then it's a no brainer. He's not worth even half that and that over double what we paid for him. Turning that down for a 36yr old back up keeper would be ridiculous and things like that need to stop if we are to move forward in the next couple of windows.
